About me and my therapy practice
Are you fed up of feeling like you never fit in? Maybe you're tired of masking your true self through fear of other people's judgements, criticisms or rejection? These are experiences I hear from clients so frequently. I work with people that want to find ways to live more authentically, to be more comfortable in expressing their true selves. I support clients to uncover their natural ways of being, to unmask and find ways to express their true emotions. I have a passion and a wealth of knowledge (professionally and personally) of supporting neurodiverse clients (predominantly, though not exclusively clients with autism and ADHD).Practice description
I work with clients of all ages ( from 13+) and all backgrounds. I am not here to be an expert over your life, I'm here to support you to understand yourself, you are the expert of your experience. I work online and can offer home visits in the Manchester/Stockport area. I am also an advocate for outdoor therapy and offer 'walk and talk' sessions.
Experience reminds me that reaching out for therapy can be a daunting process, but I also know that counselling can (and does) change lives. So, I encourage you to take a brave step and make contact if you feel that we may work well together. I look forward to hearing from you and getting to know the real you.
My first session
If after a free initial consultation you decide that you would like to trial working together, we will arrange a first session to take place. Our first session together will be a chance to identify your concerns, hopes, and your reasons for seeking therapy in more detail. Together, we will collaboratively set the agenda for our future sessions, ensuring that your needs and preferences are at the forefront of the therapeutic journey. This initial session helps us to identify a way of working together and begin to build a shared language to encourage further exploration in future sessions. What I can help with

About me and my therapy practice
Are you looking an experienced person-centred counsellor working in a trauma-informed, non-pathologising way? I start form the foundational position that emotional distress is a meaningful response to lived experience, rather than evidence of something “wrong” within a person.
Maybe you’re looking for somebody who has lots of experience working with autistic clients and clients with ADHD from a person centred perspective? I understand that autism and ADHD do not look the same for every person that shares the same diagnosis. Rather than relying on checklists, assumptions or stereotypes I am interested in how you experience your sensitivities, strengths, challenges, and ways which you relate to the world.
My work is influenced by challenging the power of the current psychiatric system which I have seen obscures people’s abilities to make personal meaning of their own experiences. I regularly work with clients who have had their complex experiences quickly wrapped up and attached to a psychiatric diagnosis which often shifts attention away from their trauma, relationships, lack of power and agency, and their social context, leaving them stuck with a label and silenced away from an opportunity to tell their story. I want to hear your story; I want to help you make sense of your experiences and compassionately understand why you needed/need to respond in the way you did/do.
Practice description
I specialise in sensitively working with people who have been left feeling blamed, broken, or silenced after previous experiences of accessing psychological support. Many clients come to therapy having learned to describe themselves through labels and symptoms that don’t fully explain their experience. In our work together, I am not interested in assessing, categorising, or fixing you, you are not broken; the current system is. I am interested and passionately invested in understanding how your experiences make sense in the context of your own life.
I see you as the expert in your own experience. Our task together is to build a steady, relational space in which we both feel comfortable to be honest and vulnerable in our work together. I will bring my experience of working with other people who have struggled in similar ways — not to impose explanations, but to support you in reclaiming your own understanding of who you are and where you are right now.
