About me and my therapy practice
I offer a warm, compassionate space with you at the heart. For over 30 years I’ve helped people with anxiety, trauma, grief, stress, relationship issues, living with chronic pain, identity and more. I’m also a qualified specialist therapist in Neurodiversity.
You won’t be judged here, just heard, understood and supported. My counselling work has been published nationally as examples of excellence in practice and my clinical work has been used as examples of clinical excellence.
If life feels too heavy, you don’t have to carry it all by yourself. Together we’ll make sense of what’s going on inside your head and turn things around, one step at a time. When we feel safe, accepted and understood with someone, this is when change happens. I’ve helped hundreds of people feel more in control, and I’d like to help you too.
Practice description
This is a space to breathe, talk freely, and start feeling like yourself again. I draw upon creative therapy, as well as your unique strengths, interests and self awareness. I can help if you feel stuck, overwhelmed or on edge. Together, we’ll make sense of what’s going on inside your head, and your relationships. There’s no judgment here, just real support.
As a Pluralistic Psychotherapist I have decades of experience with a basis in the humanistic person centred approach. I’ve also spent 4 years doing a Masters which involved studying a wide range of psychological approaches which I can draw upon to meet your individual needs, which may include psychodynamic, ACT, solution focussed therapy, or one of a range of approaches to help you understand yourself better and make the changes you want, at your own pace.
I’ve had my own registered mental health charity which was voted charity of the year, and held dual roles as a Specialist eating disorders therapist, an addictions therapist and a specialist mental health therapist in community rehabilitation, inpatient and day services.
My practice is born out of lived experience from helping family members from a very young age. I was then asked if I would talk with, and help other people, and have been fortunate to do this for all of my life meeting the most courageous and inspirational people. When life is hard, we do what we can to cope and survive it. To still be here, to keep going, takes courage and deserves only respect. There is no judgment here, only understanding and compassion.
It takes courage to reach out, I appreciate and respect this, why not reach out today for a free chat to see if things feel the right fit?
