About me and my therapy practice
I am an integrative psychotherapist, which means I draw on a range of therapeutic approaches to support you in a way that feels appropriate to your individual needs.
My work is grounded in the understanding that many of the ways we cope, such as overthinking, holding things in, or putting others first, often develop for good reasons, shaped by our past experiences and relationships.
In our work together, we take time to explore what may be happening beneath the surface. This can include looking at attachment patterns, emotional responses, and the ways you have learned to protect yourself.
I work in a relational and collaborative way, offering a space that is non-judgemental, respectful, and at your pace. Alongside this, I may gently incorporate psychoeducation where it feels helpful, supporting you to make sense of your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours.
My aim is to support you in developing a deeper understanding of yourself, and to begin to find new ways of relating that feel more manageable and aligned with who you are.
Practice description
Starting therapy can feel like a significant step, and it’s understandable to want to know what to expect.
I aim to offer a calm and supportive space where you can talk openly about whatever feels important to you. There is no expectation to have everything figured out, and we can go at a pace that feels comfortable.
Sessions offer an opportunity to slow things down and begin to make sense of your experiences. This might include exploring patterns in relationships, emotional responses, or the impact of past experiences, but always in a way that feels manageable and contained.
I work with adults and young people (13+), and welcome enquiries from parents seeking support for their teenager. I aim to offer a space where young people can feel safe, understood, and able to express themselves in a way that feels right for them.
I offer both short-term and open-ended therapy, depending on what feels most helpful. If you would like to get a sense of whether this feels like the right fit, you’re very welcome to get in touch.
My first session
I offer a free 15-minute initial call, which gives us the opportunity to briefly explore what you’re looking for and whether working together feels like the right fit.
If you decide to go ahead, the first full session is an opportunity for us to begin getting to know each other and to talk about what has brought you to therapy. There is no expectation to share everything straight away, and we can go at a pace that feels comfortable for you.
I may ask some gentle questions to help me understand your current situation, your background, and what you would like support with, but this is always led by you.
The first session is charged at my standard rate, and there is no obligation to continue beyond this. You’re welcome to take time to reflect on whether the space feels right for you.
