About me and my therapy practice
Hello, I’m Diane Wardman, a qualified BACP-registered counsellor and psychotherapist working exclusively online with adults across the UK.
I work pluralistically, tailoring therapy to each individual rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach. At the heart of my work is a relational, person-centred way of working, where feeling heard, respected, and emotionally safe is central to the process. Many people come to therapy having spent a long time adapting, coping, or pushing feelings aside; our work can be a place where you no longer have to do that.
In sessions, I aim to offer a calm, attuned space where you can slow things down and begin to notice what’s really going on for you. We’ll work together to make sense of your experiences, explore patterns that may be keeping you stuck, and gently develop ways of responding to yourself and others with more clarity and compassion. Therapy with me is collaborative; we move at a pace that feels right for you, and your voice remains central throughout.
Alongside emotional exploration, we can also focus on practical support, helping you feel more grounded and resourced in your day-to-day life.
I work with a range of issues, including anxiety, low mood, self-esteem and self-worth, relationship difficulties, trauma and abuse, grief and loss, OCD, stress, addiction, neurodiversity (including ADHD and autism), eating difficulties, and identity-related concerns, including LGBTQ+ issues.
I offer short-, medium- and long-term counselling, with sessions available weekly or fortnightly. Sessions take place online via Zoom and last 50 minutes.
I also offer a free 20-minute introductory Zoom call, an opportunity to share what’s brought you to counselling, ask questions, and get a sense of whether working together feels right. You can book a free call or a 50-minute session via my online scheduling page:
https://shoresidetherapy.as.me/
If something here resonates with you, you’re very welcome to get in touch.
Practice description
“The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change.” Carl Rogers
You might be considering counselling because something in your life no longer feels sustainable. Perhaps you’re functioning on the outside but struggling internally, feeling anxious, overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected from yourself or others. You don’t need to be in crisis to begin therapy; sometimes it’s simply a sense that you want things to feel different.
I offer a warm, calm and non-judgemental counselling space where you can talk openly about whatever is on your mind. This is a place where you don’t have to minimise your feelings or “get it right”. We will work gently and thoughtfully, making sense of your experiences together.
My way of working is collaborative and relational. I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. We’ll move at a pace that feels right for you, exploring patterns and emotional responses, while also developing practical coping strategies to support your day-to-day wellbeing.
Many of the people I work with are insightful and capable, yet find themselves feeling depleted, self-critical or uncertain beneath the surface. Therapy can be a space to pause, reflect, and begin relating to yourself with greater clarity and compassion.
I offer a free 20-minute introductory Zoom call, a chance to share what’s brought you to counselling, ask questions, and see whether my approach feels right. There’s no pressure to commit.
If we choose to work together, I’ll send you the necessary paperwork ahead of our first session. You can book a free introductory call or a 50-minute counselling session via my online scheduling page:
