About me and my therapy practice
When you’re in the depths of anxiety or depression, it can feel overwhelming. I provide a warm, friendly & confidential space for my clients, where we can safely talk through feelings and thoughts, which brings self-awareness and understanding.
I am friendly, warm, and non-judgmental, and I consider the therapeutic relationship between myself and my clients to be at the heart of effective therapy. I offer a space where you can safely express your feelings and any troubles you may face, including depression, anxiety, loss, grief, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem, and many other issues.
I believe that we are all unique and draw on various counselling approaches to find the one that suits each client. This perspective helps to inform my way of working and to create a more individualized counselling experience.
Having experienced the benefits of counselling personally, I aim to provide a safe place for others to share the same benefits through the counselling relationship, which can help people discover solutions to their issues.
The counselling process is a journey I commit to with each client along their journey until they are ready to go it alone. I offer short and long-term therapy.
Practice description
I work from home in a summerhouse in the garden which is now my counselling suite. I currently offer face-to-face, telephone, or video sessions via Zoom.
My first session
Seeking counselling can feel daunting, especially if you’re not used to discussing your feelings and thoughts with others. The idea of discussing these with a stranger can feel scary. This is why the first session together is essential; we can get to know each other and gently explore what concerns you and what you would like to accomplish from having counselling.
Our first session together will allow you to decide whether you feel comfortable with me and my way of working and whether you’d like to continue your journey with me.

About me and my therapy practice
Reaching out for counselling can feel daunting, especially if you've been carrying things on your own for a long time. You may be feeling overwhelmed, anxious, low, stuck, or unsure why things feel the way they do - only that something needs to change.
I offer a warm, non-judgmental, and confidential space where you can slow things down and talk openly about whatever is troubling you. Whether you are struggling with anxiety, panic attacks, depression, loss or grief, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem, addiction, or the emotional impact of life experiences, we can work through this together at your pace.
I work integratively, which means I tailor therapy to you as an individual rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach. I believe we are all unique, and my role is to support you in finding clarity, gaining a deeper understanding of yourself, and discovering ways to move forward that feel right for you.
Having experienced the benefits of counselling myself, I truly understand how powerful it can be to feel heard, supported, and accepted. I see counselling as a collaborative journey - one that I commit to walking alongside you for as long as you need, until you feel ready to continue on your own.
Experience
I hold a BA (Hons) Degree in Integrative Counselling and am a registered member of the BACP, working in accordance with their ethical framework.
I began my clinical practice in 2020 with Acorn Counselling Services/MTCIC, where I gained experience working one-to-one with a wide range of clients, including referrals from NHS services, Suffolk & Norfolk Carers Matter, Suffolk Wellbeing, and self-referrals.
Alongside my private practice, Knott Alone Counselling, I have worked as an addiction therapist supporting individuals affected by substance use, and I currently provide talking therapy within NHS wellbeing services.
This combination of private practice, charity, and NHS work allows me to bring a broad, grounded understanding to my work with clients.
Practice description
My approach is relational, compassionate, and trauma-informed. I place great importance on building a safe and trusting therapeutic relationship, as I believe this is central to meaningful change.
Sessions are led by what you bring and what feels most important to you. Some clients come with very clear goals; others simply know they don't want to feel the way they do anymore. Both are completely welcome.
I work with adults and young people and have experience supporting clients through complex and long-standing difficulties, as well as more recent or situational challenges.
