About me and my therapy practice
About Me
I am a trainee Body Psychotherapist in advanced clinical training at the Cambridge Body Psychotherapy Centre (CBPC), working towards registration with the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP).
I am a qualified Integrative Psychotherapist, a Sexual Counsellor, and a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). My work draws on these complementary approaches while remaining grounded in the principles of Body Psychotherapy.
Therapy is a collaborative process, and I aim to create an environment where you feel safe enough to explore difficult emotions, longstanding patterns and the parts of yourself that may have gone unheard.
We usually begin with what feels most important to you, while gradually exploring the wider context of your life. I see therapy not only as a place to gain insight, but also as a space to experience new ways of relating to yourself and others, helping you feel more connected, grounded and resourced
Practice description
Body Psychotherapy
Body Psychotherapy recognises that our thoughts, emotions and life experiences are expressed not only through words, but also through the body. Our posture, breathing, movement, muscle tension and nervous system responses can all carry important information about how we have learned to cope with life.
In our sessions, I pay attention to both your verbal narrative and your body's narrative.
Depending on your needs and therapeutic goals, sessions may include verbal exploration alongside body-based approaches such as:
Body awareness and tracking sensations
Breathing practices
Grounding and mindfulness
Movement and bioenergetic exercises
Body mapping
Exploration of posture and muscular tension
Nervous system regulation techniques
Biodynamic massage (a therapeutic touch intervention discussed in advance and offered only with your explicit consent)
