About me and my therapy practice

Whatever your experience of the world, counselling offers an opportunity for individuals and couples to heal, grow and work through difficult moments.

With greater understanding of how clients have gotten to this point, I work to enable clients to foster self-compassion and consider what changes and strategies are needed to live fulfilled, authentic lives free from anxiety and depression.

Counselling can be one of the most rewarding but challenging processes you'll undertake, which is why finding someone you feel comfortable and safe with is essential. You are invited to book a free 15-minute telephone or video consultation to see if I would be a good fit for you.

Wellness model:

I work within an integrative, relational framework that draws on a range of therapeutic approaches, including person-centred therapy, CBT and DBT (cognitive and dialectical behavioural therapies), psychodynamic therapy, Gestalt therapy, and transactional analysis.

Through my own experience as both a client and a counsellor, I came to understand that talk-based approaches alone are often not enough. This led me to undertake training in breath-work and mindfulness meditation, supporting a more holistic approach to wellbeing and nervous system regulation.

I’ve seen how powerful these practices can be, often creating meaningful change in a relatively short time. I work with clients to find the tools that best support regulation and help restore connection with their internal guidance system—intuition.

My approach is kind, grounded, and direct, supporting clients to develop a clearer understanding of themselves and the patterns or blocks that may be limiting their progress in life.

Practice description

Couples:

Relationships can be both deeply meaningful and deeply challenging. I offer a supportive, neutral space for partners to slow down, understand each other more clearly, and work through difficulties together. Here, the relationship is the client.

In our sessions, we focus on improving communication, rebuilding trust, and identifying unhelpful patterns that keep you feeling stuck or disconnected. Whether you’re navigating conflict, distance, life transitions, infidelity, or simply want to strengthen your relationship, couples counselling can help you reconnect with intention and care.

I work collaboratively with both partners, creating a respectful and non-judgmental environment where each person’s perspective is heard and valued. Together, we’ll explore what’s happening beneath the surface, identify practical tools you can use outside of sessions, and support you in building a relationship that feels more secure, balanced, and fulfilling.

Couples counselling is suitable for all relationships, whether you’re dating, married, long-term partners, or at a crossroads unsure as to what comes next.

EMDR

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) is a structured, evidence-based therapy that helps clients process distressing or traumatic experiences that may still be affecting them in the present. When difficult events are not fully processed, they can remain stuck, leading to ongoing emotional distress, hypervigilance, unhelpful beliefs, or physical reactions that feel hard to control.

Clients typically notice a reduction in emotional reactivity, increased clarity, and a stronger sense of control after treatment.

EMDR can be helpful for a wide range of concerns, including trauma and PTSD, anxiety, panic, phobias, grief, low self-worth, and the impact of adverse life experiences. You do not need to go into detail about what happened for EMDR to be effective.

My first session

Ahead of a first session I ask clients to read and agree to a contract of how we work together. This can be discussed in the first session if there are any areas of concern. I invite clients to come with an open mind and not to feel a need to prepare.
