About me and my therapy practice
Hi, I'm Katie, a person centred therapist offering online sessions.
I aim to offer a non-judgemental, safe space to explore what might be going on in your life right now that has brought you here.
I have been where you are and know how hard it is to reach out and get support, I hope you feel ready to start your journey to a better quality of life.
I have a particular interest in relationship and communication issues and have recently completed a couples counselling course. I also specialise in neurodiversity and its affect on mental health, with lived experience of autism and ADHD.
I have recently completed CPD in Integrating Coaching into Counselling, and Working with Risk, Ethically.
I currently work for a local Mind as Counselling Coordinator, and I have been counselling for the last 4 years. I've successfully worked with a range of difficulties in this time, including anxiety, depression, eating disorders, trauma, stress, relationship or family issues, self esteem and more.
Practice description
The aim of my practice is to build a therapeutic relationship with you and build a safe space together, to allow the embrace of all parts of yourself and your feelings. To understand yourself more deeply and your responses to the world, encouraging empowerment and self improvement.
I work in an a person centred way, prioritising what each client needs individually. This means tailoring my approach to what will benefit you most, and using integrative techniques when needed, such as CBT, ACT, TA, EFT.
Each session is 50 minutes long
My first session
Since I feel the therapeutic relationship is the most important part of therapy, I offer a free first meeting. This 15 minute meeting is a non committal meeting where you can ask any questions you have about therapy and the practice I carry out.
Once we have decided to work together, our first 50 minute session will include contracting, before delving into what's going on for you.
