About me and my therapy practice
Are you currently facing challenges in life that seem overwhelming? The demands of everyday life can be tough, and when combined with broken relationships, work issues, or unhealthy coping mechanisms, it can become too much to handle, leaving you feeling insecure and overwhelmed.
You may find yourself longing for deeper connections and struggling with self-criticism, mood swings, and a lack of self-care. You may struggle to voice your needs or assert your boundaries. You may be wrestling with questions about the meaning of life and purpose.
When this happens, it's natural to seek a safe space for healing, self-inquiry and recovery. If these descriptions resonate with you, I'm here to help.
My goal is to help you explore your emotions, make sense of your suffering, and build inner security. Together, we can work on assertive communication, setting healthy boundaries, and regaining hope and empowerment. I specialize in areas such as low self-worth, high sensitivity, depression, anxiety, interpersonal conflict, attachment trauma, and recovery from abuse.
I enjoy working with individuals who identify as caring and kind but struggle with overgiving and people-pleasing. I have experience supporting those in education, healthcare, social care, IT, and management. I also enjoy working with psychology students, coaches, and spiritually or artistically inclined individuals who are highly sensitive and seek self-expression and inner peace.
I know first-hand what it's like to feel unheard or missed by others, so I do my best to listen with care, compassion and curiosity to what's happening in my clients' lives.
If you're part of the LGBTQ+ or polyamory communities, I respect your right to be who you are and love who you want. I also understand the unique challenges faced by ex-pats and immigrants, as I am one myself.
I work in a non-directive way, empowering you to bring what's most important to you into our sessions. By fostering collaboration, open dialogue, and self-responsibility, we can find realistic solutions at your own pace.
My approach is rooted in psychosynthesis, a psychology of hope and will founded by Dr. Roberto Assagioli. Through active listening, guided meditations, embodiment practices, and inner parts work, we can access your inner awareness and awaken your will to create change.
If you're interested in working together, I offer both online and face-to-face sessions in Nunhead, SE15 London. You can get started by booking a free 20-minute introductory call at https://www.bristenamantu.com/counsellingandtherapy
Together, we can work towards a brighter, more fulfilling future.
My first session
During your first session, you can discuss your issue in more depth. You will also experience my work style, enabling you to decide whether you wish to commit to a working agreement. At that point, any outstanding questions you might have about my contract (to be read beforehand) will also be answered.
At the end of the first session, you will be asked to decide within a week if you wish to commit to working together. I will be able to offer you a weekly slot at the same time every week that will be just for you (I offer some flexibility wherever possible if you need to reschedule once in a while).
