About me and my therapy practice
Hello I am Tanya and I offer you a warm welcome.
I work with individuals facing a wide range of challenges including anxiety, depression, trauma & past experiences, relationship dynamics, self-worth, personal growth, overwhelm and dis-regulation.
Therapy is a collaboration. I will listen to your needs, help you reflect on your experience and support you in creating a path forward that feels authentic to you.
No two people are the same and so together we will explore what works best for you, ensuring your therapy is as unique as you are.
I offer a supportive environment where you will be heard and accepted without judgement. Being with someone who will listen without offering opinion or advice can help you to work out ways to make changes, however big or small.
Practice description
Being an integrative therapist trained in CBT, psychodynamic and person-centred theory, allows me to draw on those elements which would be most helpful for you, as the unique individual that you are. This may include helping you to explore past events and relationships and gaining insight, or it might be working out ways to help you manage your day to day life. Whatever you bring to therapy, I will listen to you and support you along this part of your journey.
My first session
Taking the first step towards finding a counsellor can be really tough and you have done it.
If you feel ready to take the next step, I offer a free introductory chat (15 minutes) on the telephone where we can get to know each other a little and where you can briefly say what brings you to counselling.
If after that you feel you would like to arrange an initial session, we can then take it from there.
Initial session - This session is where we carry out an initial assessment, which includes going through your history, living/work/social situations, and where we see if we both feel we can work together going forward. This is a very important initial step, as central to effective therapy is the relationship between client and therapist.
All sessions (including initial session) - £65/50 minutes
