Availability

I see clients in Kentish Town in person on Monday and Tuesday evenings, and various daytimes.

I also have Wednesday evenings available for Zoom sessions.

About me and my therapy practice

I bring a lifetime of experience to the counselling room and adapt my approach to suit the needs of each individual case. You will find me warm and compassionate, and ready to offer my opinion and insights, if wanted.

I am trained in both Psychodynamic and Systemic counselling. I also use Transactional Analysis, Gestalt and Internal Family Systems. I am also a qualified MBT (Mentalization Based Therapy) therapist - the work is short-term, and solution-focused (10 sessions). Especially appropriate for high-conflict couples.

That said, the most important thing is that you feel comfortable talking and working together with me.

Practice description

Sometimes it takes an experienced counsellor to guide your relationship through a rough patch.

You might need to express strong emotions following an affair.

Perhaps you are tired of arguments turning bitter and hurtful.

Maybe important decisions need to be made.

Life events such as becoming new parents, job changes or retirement can threaten even the best relationships. Every couple’s situation is different and I bring all my skills and experience to help you move to the next phase of your relationship.

Some clients gain key insight and move on after only a few sessions. Others want more time to unpack more complex dynamics or circumstances.

Whatever your situation I'll help both of you feel heard and understood. You will learn new ways to communicate, and learn more about yourself too along the way.

For Individuals

Many clients feel unable to escape their self-critical voice. Others become immobilised by anxiety or depression. You may want to heal old wounds or develop a more positive sense of yourself. I will be right alongside you as you make more constructive choices.

Workplace coaching

Sometimes you need help with problems at work. I hold an MA in organisational consulting so we can also explore your workplace issues and career challenges.

My first session

In counselling sessions you can really listen to each other, not just to the words but what is underneath. I offer insights so the two of you can work things through, and I intervene when necessary. In order to move forward we will explore your current world and discover how your past may be influencing your present.

During your first session I'll learn what brings you to counselling. I will gently enquire about your lives at present, and what you want to achieve. You will also get a sense of me and how I work. Even in the first session and if you think it’s helpful, I may suggest some tools that you can practice at home.

Whatever your situation I want you to feel comfortable, so my approach is compassionate and personable. Together will find new insights so you can work things through for yourself, and I readily offer my opinion when needed.

About me and my therapy practice

A relationship specialist, I work with couples and individuals who want change. I also work with clients who need help with anxiety and depression, or issues at work.

I've helped hundreds of couples get through their most difficult times. Whether it’s a breakdown in communication, bitter arguing or infidelity.

Through a combination of talk therapy and home-based exercises I will help you learn ways to manage conflict and reconnect. Or separate, if that’s what you want.

I trained and qualified with Relate, the Institute of Family Therapy and the Tavistock and Portman.
