About me and my therapy practice

I am an integrative counsellor, which means I adapt the way I work to suit you as an individual rather than following one fixed approach.

At the heart of my work is the relationship we build together. I offer a warm, compassionate and non-judgemental space where you can feel heard, understood and able to talk openly about what is happening for you.

I work collaboratively and at your pace. I will not tell you what to do or assume that one way of working will suit everyone. Instead, we can explore what you are experiencing, the patterns that may be affecting you and what you would like to change.

Depending on what feels helpful for you, I may draw on person-centred therapy, CBT, ACT, solution-focused approaches, parts work, mindfulness and nervous-system-informed techniques.

I often work with adults who are experiencing anxiety, stress, low mood, low self-esteem, overthinking, relationship difficulties, bereavement, difficult past experiences or periods of change.

Many of the people I work with are used to being strong for others, putting their own needs aside or feeling that they should be able to cope. Therapy can offer a space to slow things down, understand yourself more deeply and begin to develop a kinder and more supportive relationship with yourself.

My aim is to help you feel more able to understand what is happening for you, recognise what may be keeping you stuck and find ways forward that feel right for you.

Practice description

You may be feeling anxious, overwhelmed, low in confidence or simply not quite yourself. Perhaps you spend a lot of time overthinking, putting other people first, finding it difficult to set boundaries or feeling as though you should be coping better than you are.

Counselling can give you a space that is just for you.

I work with adults who may be struggling with anxiety, stress, low mood, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, bereavement, difficult past experiences or periods of change. You do not need to have a diagnosis or even be completely sure what is wrong. Sometimes you may simply know that something does not feel right and that you would like things to be different.

My practice is a calm, supportive space where you can talk openly without judgement or pressure. We can look at what is happening in your life now, how past experiences may still be affecting you and any patterns that leave you feeling stuck.

Therapy can offer an opportunity to focus on yourself, understand what you need and begin to make changes that feel manageable and meaningful.

My first session

Starting counselling can feel daunting, especially if you have not had therapy before. Your first session is a chance for us to get to know each other and for you to see how it feels to talk with me.

There is no pressure to tell me everything straight away or to have worked out exactly what you want from counselling. We can begin with what has brought you to therapy, what has been feeling difficult and what you might hope to get from our work together.

I will also explain a little about how I work, confidentiality and what you can expect from sessions. You are welcome to ask any questions you may have.

Most importantly, the first session gives us both an opportunity to see whether working together feels like a good fit. If you decide to continue, we can agree what you would like to focus on and move forward at a pace that feels manageable for you.
