About me and my therapy practice
I am an Accredited Counsellor and Psychotherapist offering a compassionate, person-centred and trauma-informed approach to therapy. I believe that every individual has the capacity for growth and healing when they are provided with a safe, accepting and supportive therapeutic relationship.
Over the past four years, I have had the privilege of working therapeutically alongside children, young people, adults and parents, supporting individuals through a range of emotional and psychological challenges. I have particular experience working with neurodivergent individuals and strive to provide therapy that is affirming, flexible and tailored to each person's unique strengths, needs and experiences.
My practice is grounded in person-centred values while being informed by current research and evidence-based approaches to trauma. I use my theoretical knowledge alongside clinical experience to deliver therapy that is ethical, responsive and adapted to each client, recognising that there is no one-size-fits-all approach.
I view therapy as a collaborative partnership where we work together to explore your experiences at a pace that feels right for you. Alongside empathy and acceptance, I gently encourage reflection and, where appropriate, offer thoughtful challenge to help you recognise patterns, build self-awareness and discover your own inner strengths.
Creating a warm, safe and non-judgemental space is at the heart of my work. I aim to ensure every client feels genuinely heard, understood and valued, regardless of their background or experiences. I am passionate about promoting equity, embracing diversity and empowering people to better understand themselves, develop meaningful coping strategies and move towards a life that feels more balanced, authentic and fulfilling.
Practice description
Many of the people I work with have spent years putting others first, adapting who they are to meet expectations, and carrying responsibilities that were never theirs to hold. Over time, this can leave you feeling emotionally exhausted, disconnected from yourself, and questioning your own worth.
You may struggle to set boundaries, find it difficult to recognise your own needs, or feel unheard and misunderstood. Perhaps you're your own worst critic, constantly overthinking, replaying conversations or feeling that you're never quite "good enough." You may have become so used to pushing through that you've lost touch with your body's signals, making it difficult to recognise stress, overwhelm or burnout.
As your therapist, I offer a warm, compassionate and non-judgemental space where you can feel safe to explore your experiences at your own pace. Together, we'll make sense of the patterns, beliefs and coping strategies that may once have protected you but no longer support the life you want to live.
Rather than telling you what to do, I work collaboratively alongside you, offering empathy, understanding and gentle challenge to help you develop greater self-awareness, emotional understanding and confidence. My aim is to help you reconnect with yourself, recognise your strengths and make choices that reflect your own needs and values.
Through therapy, you'll begin to trust yourself more, develop healthier boundaries without guilt, manage emotions in ways that feel supportive rather than overwhelming, and build greater resilience and self-worth. Most importantly, therapy provides the opportunity to embrace your authentic self—free from the pressure of constantly meeting other people's expectations.
You don't have to face life's challenges alone.
You are seen. You are heard. You are valued. And you matter.
My first session
I understand that taking the first step towards therapy can feel daunting, so I aim to make the process as comfortable and supportive as possible.
Before arranging your first session, I offer a free 15-minute telephone consultation. This gives us the opportunity to briefly discuss what has brought you to therapy, any questions or concerns you may have, and what you hope to gain from counselling. It's also a chance for you to get a sense of how I work and decide whether you feel we would be a good fit. Finding the right therapist is an important part of the therapeutic process, and there is no obligation to continue after this initial conversation.
If you decide that you would like to work with me, I will email you my Therapy Agreement (Contract), a Welcome Assessment Form, and details of how to make payment. The assessment helps me gain an understanding of your background, current circumstances and what you would like to achieve from therapy, allowing us to make the best use of our time together from the very first session.
My aim is to ensure you feel informed, supported and comfortable before beginning your therapeutic journey.
