About me and my therapy practice

Hello and Welcome. I am an accredited Integrative Therapeutic Counsellor, with experience of working with children, young people and adults.

Life can sometimes feel difficult and overwhelming, and we can all experience issues that impact our physical health and emotional wellbeing, relationships, work and/or school life.

As a Counsellor, I offer a welcoming and non-judgemental space to explore what you may be experiencing difficulties with. My approach is flexible and client-led, incorporating traditional talking therapy, walking & talking and creative interventions. Most importantly, I will be guided by what you feel you need, in a calm and accepting space.

Often my counselling approach is informed from working systemically; considering family, intimate and wider relationships, recognising how our relationships and patterns influence our individual wellbeing. We all carry stories - our own, as well as the stories shaped by our family and relationships. You may not feel you have had the opportunity to share your own story. I feel it is important for you as the client to choose how and when you share your story and experiences. Through counselling, we can explore how these may impact you, in the past and present, offering a space for new insights, personal growth and change.

Practice description

Working integratively means I use different modalities and techniques such as Humanistic, Psychodynamic and Cognitive. I believe it is important to work flexibly and dynamically to what you as the client needs for your session.

I offer counselling from Unit 12, which is based in a Community Centre on Winnall Valley Road in Winchester. It is close to the city centre and off Junction 9 from the M3.

I am also able to offer outdoor sessions or 'walk and talk' therapy. Hampshire has some beautiful surroundings and places to meet and walk. We can explore together whether this would be something you would like to consider.

My first session

I offer a free 30-minute telephone or online consultation, to talk about how counselling works and any questions you might have.

It is also an opportunity for us to explore your hopes from counselling and whether you feel I am the right counsellor for you.

Together we can start to explore how many sessions you might like at your initial consultation session and review this during your future sessions.

For children and young people, we will also meet and review together with parent or caregivers during the first session. This can help to provide transparency around expectations and confidentiality in counselling.

All enquiries are kept confidential. Please contact me by phone or email. Further details can be found on my website.
