About me and my therapy practice
Relationships are at the heart of everything we build — personally and professionally. When they are under strain, everything feels harder. When they are strong, everything becomes possible.
I am an accredited psychotherapist with a particular specialism in working with couples and families including those who share a business together. I offer a warm, considered and deeply confidential space where individuals, couples and families can explore what is getting in the way, understand each other more clearly and find a way forward that works for everyone involved.
Whether you are navigating a relationship difficulty, a significant life transition, a family tension or the unique pressures of running a business with someone you love. I bring the skills, experience and personal understanding to hold all of it at once.
Who I Work With
I work with adults as individuals, couples and families. I also work with couples and families in businesses where the personal and the professional are deeply intertwined and both need attention simultaneously.
My clients come to me at different moments and for different reasons. Some are individuals seeking clarity about themselves, their relationships or their direction. Some are couples navigating communication difficulties, recurring conflict, significant decisions or a loss of connection. Some are families managing tension, transition or the complexity of shared responsibility.
I also work with a specific group of clients who are often underserved by traditional therapy - couples who run businesses together. The pressures of being life partners and business partners simultaneously are real, specific and significant. I understand those pressures both professionally and personally, and I bring a unique combination of skills to support couples who want to protect both the relationship and the business they are building together.
Practice description
My practice is rooted in person-centred counselling — which means I work from a deep belief in your capacity to understand yourself, grow and change when given the right conditions to do so. I am warm, direct and attentive, and I work collaboratively with every client rather than imposing a framework or agenda.
Alongside my psychotherapeutic training I am also a qualified business coach (EMCC) and civil and commercial mediator (MSoM). This means that where appropriate I can bring a more practical, solution-focused dimension to our work together to help you not just to understand a situation more deeply but to move through it with clarity and purpose.
I work relationally and systemically, paying attention not just to the individual but to the relationships, dynamics and contexts that shape how we feel and how we function. For couples and families this is particularly important. The difficulties we experience rarely belong to one person alone.
My Experience
I am an accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and hold an MSc in Person-Centred Counselling for Children, Young People and Adults from the University of Aberdeen. I also hold an MA in Anthropology from the University of Aberdeen, which informs my systemic and relational approach to practice.
Alongside my psychotherapeutic training I hold a Life Coaching Diploma and Small Business Coaching Diploma from The Coaching Academy and am a member of The European Mentoring and Coaching Council (EMCC), and I am a qualified Civil and Commercial Mediator accredited by The Society of Mediators (MSoM).
I have worked with individuals, couples and families in private practice since 2022. I bring to every client relationship not just professional training but real personal understanding of the dynamics that make relationships - and family businesses - both extraordinarily rewarding and extraordinarily challenging.
