About me and my therapy practice
Hello, I’m Ruth, and welcome to my counselling services. As a fully trained, professionally registered person-centred counsellor, I understand that it can be difficult to find the right counsellor, especially if you’re feeling anxious, low, or overwhelmed. It’s important to find someone you trust, with whom you feel comfortable sharing your innermost feelings.
You may have reached a point where it feels hard to manage your emotions. Whether you’ve experienced loss, a relationship breakdown, or trauma, or you’re feeling confused, anxious, or lonely, it’s crucial to have someone to talk to. Together, we can create a trusting therapeutic relationship in which you feel safe to explore your feelings without judgment.
I offer a compassionate, non-judgmental space where you can untangle and process the challenges you face. Human relationships are often at the heart of many of our struggles, which is why the healing strength of relationship is central to my practice. My aim is to be fully present with you, to witness and support you, and to provide an environment where you feel accepted and respected. I believe in truly listening and hearing whatever you choose to share.
Therapy, for me, is a collaborative, non-directive journey we undertake together. I offer counselling to individuals, couples, and families. I am a Neurodivergent-affirmative therapist. I take a trauma-informed approach. I also specialise in emotionally focused therapy for couples/relationships and am a certified autism spectrum clinical specialist and ADHD clinical service provider. My previous experience includes working with a substance misuse charity and offering specialist bereavement support at a local hospice.
I look forward to working with you to help you navigate the challenges you are facing.
Practice description
Our sessions together
We can work together face to face in my room in Seaford or by walking and talking in the green spaces around Seaford.
I also work online from anywhere in the UK.
Walk and talk therapy
Walking in the fresh air in the beautiful Sussex countryside may be beneficial to you for a number of reasons. Walking side by side can be calming in a way that can make it feel easier to express difficult feelings. Simply being outside and walking at your pace can help lift mood, reduce stress and feelings of anxiety.
