I offer face to face and online psychotherapy and counselling. The face to face sessions are in central Newcastle.
I work from Tuesdays to Fridays, 8am to 5pm.
About me and my therapy practice
I offer a warm and safe space where you can gently explore your challenges so that you can foster healing, self-understanding, and personal growth.
Coming to therapy might be a daunting thing to do, you may feel like you ‘shouldn’t’ need therapy. However there are many reasons why therapy might be useful for you.
Perhaps you feel anxious.
Difficult feelings and thoughts can limit your daily life. Perhaps you don’t understand why you feel so anxious. Maybe you feel as though everyone else copes better with life. I can work with you to support you to calm your nervous system, understand what is going on and find healthy ways to cope with your feelings and thoughts.
Maybe you feel depressed.
Sometimes we can feel wrong, bad or not good enough. Perhaps your internal voice catastrophises everything leaving you feeling worthless, hopeless and numb. Navigating this struggle might leave you feeling low in motivation, lost and stuck on a daily basis. I can support you to move on from these thoughts and feelings. I will work with you to find meaning in your life, to understand yourself better and put the past to rest.
Maybe you have been diagnosed with an unexpected health condition.
Receiving any diagnosis can make you feel as though the bottom has fallen out of your world. Navigating this can be frightening and full of grief for the old, healthy you. It may feel impossible to understand what happened. I can provide a safe and welcoming space to support you to process what has happened and to start piecing your life back together.
Or perhaps you have lost someone close to you.
Sometimes grief creeps up on us, we know it is there but we want life to continue on as before. Other times sadness slaps us hard in the face, there is no escape. You may feel anxious, panicky, depressed, in pain or alone. I offer a warm and non-judgemental presence in which you can be heard and seen. I can support you to gently turn towards your grief and explore how it impacts you.
Practice description
My approach
My approach will be tailored to you, to meet your unique situation and way of being. Your goal for therapy will be central to how we work together. I'm committed to supporting you to get to where you want to be by bringing empathy, curiosity and perhaps some gentle challenge.
You will find a space that is supportive and warm so that you are able to safely explore your thoughts, feelings and behaviours. This can lead you to more internal awareness and choice in your life.
We will work at your pace and the parts that you struggle with will be welcomed, however mad, bad or sad they might seem.
Clients that I've worked with tell me that:
They've got their joy back.
They've moved on from the life-limiting anxiety they used to feel on a daily basis and now live life fully.
They can sleep more.
They are no longer feeling suicidal and are enjoying aspects of their life again.
They feel more confident to be themselves and step into their purpose.
They've done the grieving they needed to and can now move on with their life.
I'm influenced by
Somatic body-based therapy, Counselling for Depression work, Transactional Analysis, grief models such as Kubler - Ross, inner child work, creative work and Babette Rothschild’s Trauma work.

Introductory call
I offer a 15-minute free introductory telephone call. This provides an opportunity for you to ask any questions you may have and it will help us establish if the way I work is right for you.
Following this call there is no obligation to have therapy with me.
What are the next steps?
If you are interested to see if you’d like to start therapy with me email or call me. Please include when you are free to talk in the message.
I will reply to you within 48 hours to invite you to have a free 15 minute introductory phone call.
I will then confirm by email the time and date of your first session and will email you your starting therapy pack which you can read and sign in advance of your first session if you wish. We will go through this together in your first session. I will also send you payment details and links to the online platform if online and detailed directions if face to face.
Your first session
In your first session I'll be asking you lots of questions to understand more about you and how I can support you best. Clients often report that answering these questions can feel like a relief.
