About me and my therapy practice

My practice as an Integrative Transpersonal Therapist is shaped by my experience working in social justice and environmental change across the world and understanding the connection between personal wellbeing and the wider systems we are all part of.

Whatever struggle, pain or yearning may bring you here, therapy is a space where you will be deeply listened to and supported, as you make your journey towards more ease and a more fulfilled, joyful life.

I balance a warm receptiveness with rigorous reflection and gentle challenge, drawing on my experience working with a variety of therapeutic approaches.

Ultimately, the attentiveness, compassion and fresh perspectives I offer you in therapy will become things you learn to do for yourself. As you come into a better relationship with yourself, you can gain greater wellbeing, balance, authenticity, meaning, creativity and capacity to weather the storms in your life and the world.

Qualifications: I qualified as a Psychotherapeutic Counsellor from Re-Vision in London. I have also trained in compassion-based therapy and social transformation with the Nalanda Institute in New York/Toronto, and in Koenig’s money work which draws on Jungian ideas.

Experience supporting change-makers: Alongside my work in private practice and for counselling services in Sussex and London, I work with people and organisations in the not-for-profit world, helping professions, activism and beyond with burnout, post-traumatic stress, grief and related issues.

Intercultural experience: Born and raised in Vienna, Austria, I have experience of living and working in various parts of the world, and have lived in Brighton for over a decade. I bring a deep understanding of intercultural and migratory life experiences and questions of identity, home, and belonging.

I am a member of the Climate Psychology Alliance.

Practice description

Combining approaches

I work with a range of therapeutic models which I tailor to your unique situation. My practice includes Jungian, Gestalt/ humanistic, psychodynamic, psychosynthesis and nervous system-based approaches as well as family systems theory, and ecopsychology.

I also work creatively, using images, stories, dreams and objects, which can be helpful for coming into contact with parts of us that aren’t so easily accessible to conscious thought. Attending to aspects of ourselves that have been in hiding or disallowed can lead to greater wellbeing, freedom and a sense of living more ‘whole’.

The focus, in combining these approaches, is always on what works for you and on building a relationship in which you feel safe and supported. As research has shown, this is the most important ingredient for successful therapy.

Seeing wholeness and making connections

The transpersonal aspect of my practice means that I don’t view your struggles as a sign that you are broken but as intelligent, vital signals. When our bodies are in pain, it is because something needs attention. The same is true for our emotions and soul.

The big, existential questions of life have an important place in my practice, as does the role society, community and the natural world play in our wellbeing and mental health. A crucial aspect of this is how society and our communities relate to the various parts of who we are - our gender, sexuality, age, race, culture and class - and how this can affect our wellbeing.

I can support you with a broad range of issues, listed below. In addition, I have extensive experience and resources for working with people who are

• professionally and personally engaged in social and environmental causes

• experiencing ecological and climate grief

• struggling with or curious about money-related issues

My first session
