About me and my therapy practice
Hello, my name is Bev and I offer psychodynamic psychotherapy and counselling online and in the heart of the City of London (close to Bank, St Pauls and Cannon Street). My work is shaped by a simple idea: anxiety and depression are rarely random. Often they signal that important emotional needs, such as feeling safe, heard, understood and valued, have not been met or have been interrupted in the past or the present.
You might be seeking help with anxiety, depression, burnout, addiction, identity, thoughts of suicide, trauma, bereavement, difficult relationships or historical abuse.
Early experiences form us, and the patterns they leave quietly shape how we live. I offer a steady, thoughtful space to explore what lies beneath, so we can make sense of today and you can feel freer to choose how you live now
Practice description
Many people try to manage anxiety or low mood by working harder, thinking positively or simply carrying on. That can help for a while. But when a feeling keeps returning, or a pattern repeats in work, in relationships or in how you treat yourself, it is often pointing to something that needs attention rather than something to be pushed aside. Psychotherapy gives that something time and room. It provides a confidential, non-judgemental space in which you can feel heard and understood, and explore what comes up and why.
I have completed a long, intensive and supervised clinical training, which can be especially valuable when difficulties are long-standing or deep-rooted. Anxiety and depression are signals that important emotional needs have not been met or have been interrupted. Early experiences form us, and the patterns they leave quietly shape how we live. I offer a steady, thoughtful space to explore what lies beneath, so we can make sense of today and you can feel freer to choose how you live now.
I work in person, on the phone or online (Microsoft Teams). I offer once-weekly or twice-weekly open-ended psychotherapy, or time-limited brief therapy of four to twenty sessions. All sessions, whether open-ended or time-limited, are 50 minutes long and take place at the same time on the same weekday each week.
I am a fully qualified psychodynamic psychotherapist and a member of the British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC), the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and the International Neuropsychoanalysis Society. I hold an enhanced DBS certificate.
