About me and my therapy practice
Hi, I’m Cerian and I'm trained in Adlerian Counselling and Psychotherapy. I can work with clients from anywhere in the UK online or over the telephone. I also offer face-to-face sessions at a centre near Narberth, Pembrokeshire.
I have a degree in Psychology; I’ve always been interested in the human mind and our behaviours. Throughout my career I've worked in roles where caring for others and understanding the needs of others was the core focus.
I am a compassionate therapist who works alongside my clients at their own pace; providing you with support, encouragement and techniques in a confidential safe space to guide you on your therapeutic journey.
Psychoeducation is appropriately incorporated into sessions (i.e. explanations of ideas, handouts, reading links/videos), which aims to give clients more understanding of topics discussed (e.g. anxiety), which in turn develops client insight, awareness and therefore movement within.
Practice description
Adlerian Counselling and Psychotherapy is an approach where the therapist works with their client to identify certain obstacles and creates effective strategies for working towards their goals. We believe that by gaining insight into challenges, people can overcome feelings of inferiority. As the client takes steps towards new thoughts and behaviours, the counsellor’s role remains one of support and encouragement, both of which are crucial in effective Adlerian Counselling. Exploring Early Memories, Dreams, Family background/childhood, and various other specialised techniques, are valuable accompaniments to understanding a client’s life-style and private-logic. Gaining valuable awareness of why we are who we are and how this affects our thoughts and behaviours, is crucially important to understanding and accepting our true selves.
Insight + Action = Change
