About me and my therapy practice

Hello, I'm Jo, an experienced counsellor and trauma therapist working with individuals and couples.

Difficult life events and trauma can affect the way we function in our lives and relationships and make us feel trapped in the past, but we all have the inner resources to enable us to grow and move forward in our lives, and I am here to help you with the support and tools to do this.

Perhaps you are struggling with feeling down or anxious, experiencing difficult emotions and trying to figure out why you feel this way. You may be having difficulties in your relationships and would like to improve how you communicate and navigate a path ahead. Therapy can be a transformative experience that can help foster greater awareness of how and why we might react to situations. I can offer safe and confidential therapy for individuals and couples where we can work together towards unlocking your full potential and feeling more empowered and resilient, helping you improve your relationship with yourself and others.

I am an inclusive counsellor, and I welcome LGBTQIA+ clients, neurodiversity, and all cultures, beliefs, non-traditional relationships and sexualities; you will find a friendly, open and non-judgemental space with me.

I am highly qualified and experienced in working with many different types of trauma, including historical, physical, emotional, domestic and sexual abuse and assault. I also have specialist training in couples counselling and relationship psychotherapy, and my specialist training will ensure your safety and stability as we work together to make sense of it all at your own pace.

I have wide-ranging experience in working with a variety of issues, including trauma, sexual abuse and relationship difficulties. This ensures I have the experience to work safely with you, with empathy and stability being at the core of my work.

Therapy is a collaborative process and partnership between us, and I can work according to your needs.

I look forward to hearing from you.
