I'm currently welcoming new adult clients for counselling and therapy - in person in South Shields, and online by secure video or phone across the UK. Sessions are 45 minutes (a full hour for couples). I aim to reply to enquiries within one working day.
About me and my therapy practice
I'm an integrative therapist, which means I don't work from a single model. Instead I draw together ideas and techniques from several approaches - including person-centred, CBT-informed, solution-focused and mindfulness-based ways of working - and shape them around you. Sessions can be held face to face in South Shields, or online by secure video or telephone. I work with adults on things like anxiety, low mood and depression, stress, trauma, bereavement, relationship and communication difficulties, identity and confidence.
Practice description
Marking Therapy is my private practice, based on Stanhope Road in South Shields and working online with clients across the UK. I offer a warm, inclusive and non-judgemental space where you can explore what's going on at your own pace. As an integrative therapist I tailor the work to the person in front of me rather than following one fixed method, and I work in a way that is affirming of every background, identity and relationship. I've been in practice since 2019.
My first session
The first session is a 45-minute initial consultation (£75). It's a proper working session rather than a sales conversation: a chance to talk through what has brought you here, what you're hoping for, and how I might help, so you can decide whether it feels right to continue. Ongoing sessions are 45 minutes, held face to face, by secure video or by phone. Full fees are published on my website.

About me and my therapy practice
My supervision practice offers a supportive, reflective space for counsellors and therapists to grow in confidence, competence, and ethical awareness. I work from a relational, integrative perspective, primarily using the Cyclical Model of Supervision to ensure each session is focused, structured, and responsive to your needs.
We establish clear goals and boundaries, then explore the issues most relevant to your practice. I encourage open, honest reflection and use active listening, feedback, and collaborative inquiry to help you deepen your insight and apply theory to practice effectively.
Sessions are tailored to your experience level, whether you’re a trainee seeking guidance or an experienced practitioner wanting space to process complex work. I have particular experience supporting those working with clients from LGBTQIA+, GSRD, and multicultural backgrounds.
Each session ends with a brief review and planning for further growth. I aim to foster a safe and non-judgmental environment where you feel empowered to reflect, grow, and sustain ethical and meaningful work with your clients.
Practice description
I offer clinical supervision to counsellors and therapists in a reflective, focused, and affirming space. My approach is grounded in the Cyclical Model, providing structure while allowing space for what matters most in the moment.
Each session begins with a clear focus and ends with a practical review. In between, we explore your client work, challenges, and development with curiosity and care. I encourage honest reflection and link insights directly to your practice, supporting ethical, confident decision-making.
Supervision is available for trainees, newly qualified, and experienced practitioners. I am intensely interested in supporting those working with LGBTQIA+, GSRD, and culturally diverse clients.
Sessions are offered face-to-face, online, by phone, or through home visits when appropriate. I aim to support your growth while helping you stay grounded, resilient, and connected in your work.
