About me and my therapy practice

Therapy can help you develop a deeper understanding of yourself, your emotions, and the challenges you may be facing. Counselling is a collaborative process that can support and empower you to recognise your strengths, gain clarity, and build the resources needed to move forward in a way that feels right for you.

I offer a safe, confidential, and non-judgemental space where you can speak openly and at your own pace. Whether you are experiencing emotional difficulties, relationship challenges, or simply feeling overwhelmed, I provide a supportive environment in which we can explore your concerns together within a trusting therapeutic relationship.

I am a Registered and Accredited Counsellor with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), working with both individuals and couples. I am fully insured and hold an Enhanced DBS certificate for working with adults and children.

My professional experience spans the charity, voluntary, educational, and private sectors. I have over six years’ experience working within a mental health charity and have also worked as a school counsellor across a range of educational settings. In addition, my background includes providing peer support within a postnatal women’s group and volunteering with youth and domestic abuse services.

My private practice supports a diverse client base, and I have experience working with people from a wide range of cultural backgrounds, heritages, and life experiences. I am able to offer counselling sessions in English, Hindi, and Urdu.

Practice description

My aim as a counsellor is to build a trusting, respectful, and collaborative therapeutic relationship where you feel heard, understood, and supported. Together, we can explore your concerns at your own pace and work towards greater self-awareness, emotional wellbeing, and personal growth.

I offer short-term and long-term counselling, depending on your individual needs and goals. Sessions are available weekly, either in person or online, providing flexible support to suit your circumstances.

I work with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, stress, isolation, cultural dilemmas, and the effects of stigma and discrimination. With my Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) England training and extensive experience, I provide a compassionate and supportive space to explore these challenges and improve your mental health and wellbeing.

My training in Creative Arts in Counselling allows me to use creative approaches where appropriate, including genograms, guided imagery, sand tray work, and body mapping. These techniques can help clients express thoughts and feelings that may be difficult to put into words and can be especially helpful when working with young people. (Available for face-to-face sessions only.)

I also offer couples counselling for relationship difficulties such as communication problems, family pressures, parenting challenges, trust issues, work-related stress, affairs, separation, and cultural differences. My Specialist Diploma in Couples Counselling provides a structured, confidential, and impartial space for couples to explore these issues together and work towards greater understanding and connection.

Whether you are married, preparing for marriage, considering separation, rebuilding trust, or navigating a significant life change, I offer a supportive space where both partners can feel heard as you work towards a healthier and more fulfilling relationship.
