About me and my therapy practice
Hi, my name is Joanna Wudarczyk, an experienced, person-centred, bilingual Counsellor and a Member of the BACP.
If you are reading my profile, yourself, your teenager or someone close to you, may be struggling with a recent or maybe long-standing emotional distress, not able to sleep, concentrate, work, relate to others, etc.
You may be worried about what to say or what to expect from the sessions or even fearful of being judged, misunderstood…
Each client I work with is unique, with his/her own story, challenges, weaknesses, and strengths. At times clients come to therapy with a goal, other times they feel a bit lost, but this is a part of the process too.
Practice description
Person-centered counselling is a very gentle, non-invasive form of therapy, that will empower you to make changes in life. I can reassure you that I will help you to explore your thoughts, feelings and behaviours, so you can develop a better understanding of yourself and others, improve the relationship with your family, find purpose in life and feel like you have clarity and control over the direction your life is taking. Our therapeutic relationship won’t be based on sharing opinions or giving advice. You will get something more valuable, my genuine support in finding your solutions, whether that’s making effective changes in your life or finding ways of coping with your problems.
Whether you are facing anxiety, depression, low self esteem, loss, or you are purely feeling stuck, this form of non- directive talking therapy based on empathy, genuineness and non-judgment, will empower you to work at your own pace.
If you find it difficult to express yourself, my counseling room is equipped with therapeutic accessories to help you open up in your own time.
My dear future client, regardless of your background or current challenges, if you are considering working with me, I would be delighted to meet you! I’m here to listen and support you in this process so please feel able to contact me to arrange a free consultation.
My first session
I offer a free 15 minutes introductory call prior to any commitment. This is an informal chat that will help me to understand what you are going through and an opportunity for you to ask any questions.
Following the free consultation call, if you feel we could work together, please get in touch with me via email to arrange your first session.
At your first session, we will spend some time to discuss our contract and you will be asked to complete a short initial assessment form.
