About me and my therapy practice
Navigating chronic reproductive conditions, fertility issues, or complex routes to parenthood can impact far more than your physical body. It touches your sense of identity, strains relationships, shakes your confidence, and reshapes how you see the future.
Whether you are in the thick of treatment, processing a new diagnosis, or looking back years later trying to make sense of what you went through, it can feel very isolating. Some people come to me in acute distress, others simply want a confidential space to think clearly and regain their emotional footing.
Areas I support clients with most often:
Fertility & Treatments: Managing the emotional rollercoaster of IVF, two-week waits, donor conception, or deciding when to stop.
Reproductive & Hormonal Conditions: Living with Premature Ovarian Insufficiency (POI), PCOS, endometriosis, or surgical/early menopause.
Pregnancy Loss & TFMR: Space to grieve miscarriages, recurrent loss, and medical terminations without pressure to "move on."
Adoption & Alternative Paths to Parenthood: Working through the grief of moving away from biological routes and navigating the emotional process of adoption.
Professional Background
I am a BACP-registered psychotherapist and a member of the British Infertility Counselling Association (BICA). Alongside my private practice, I serve as Chair of Daisy Network, the national charity supporting women with Premature Ovarian Insufficiency (POI), contributing to psychological advocacy and medical guidance in reproductive health.
My clinical training includes diplomas in both adult and child & adolescent psychotherapeutic counselling, with continuous specialist training in infertility, and reproductive trauma. I am fully insured and ICO registered.
A Personal Note
My focus on reproductive health is both professional and personal. Having navigated a reproductive diagnosis and my own journey to parenthood, I understand firsthand how disorienting these experiences can be.
Practice description
How and Where I Work.
My style is down-to-earth, collaborative, and practical.
I offer a grounded space where that grief is acknowledged, paired with realistic support to help you cope:
Emotional Support & Space for Grief:
You don’t have to keep up a brave face here. Whether you are dealing with the quiet heartache of a changed timeline, the invisible grief of pregnancy loss, or the disorientation of a medical diagnosis, this is a dedicated space to let your guard down and feel whatever needs to be felt.
Practical, Day-to-Day Coping:
Alongside holding the emotional weight, our work is firmly rooted in real life. We look at practical ways to get through the week: managing anxiety around scans and appointments, deciding on boundaries with well-meaning family, navigating social events when it hurts to be around pregnant friends, or figuring out how to stay on the same team as your partner when you’re both hurting differently.
Exploration of Your Story:
Sometimes earlier experiences, past relationships, or how you were taught to handle difficult emotions quietly shape how you respond to pain and uncertainty now. We can look at how those threads connect, not to dwell endlessly on the past, but to help you understand your reactions and stop being so hard on yourself.
I work with clients all across the UK online, as well as offering in-person sessions based in North Tyneside (Tynemouth).
My first session
Reaching out can feel like an intimidating step, especially if you are already emotionally drained from medical appointments and endless decisions.
Initial Contact: You can get in touch via the contact form or by email. We will arrange a brief initial conversation or schedule your first full session.
First Session: Our first appointment is an opportunity to discuss what has brought you to therapy, what you feel you need right now, and whether we feel like a good match. There is no expectation to lay out your entire history at once, we move at whatever pace feels manageable for you.
Session Structure: Sessions are 50 minutes, usually held weekly or fortnightly depending on your needs, circumstances, and where you are on your journey.
Whether you are looking for short-term help during an active treatment cycle or assessment, or longer-term space to process a life-altering diagnosis, I can support you through it.
