About me and my therapy practice
Hi there, I am a Person-Centred Counsellor and my approach works in a non-judgemental way to explore themes and issues at a pace that suits you. Empathetic and empowering support in sessions can help find your voice and make sense of what is going on for you.
Sometimes life can just feel like it's all too much and too hard to make sense of. My counselling service will offer you a space to work through what is and has been going on for you. I will support you in finding your way forward.
Over the years I have worked with a range of clients, supporting many themes and issues. I have particular specialisms in Bereavement, anxiety and self-worth related issues.
I know how important it is to find someone you feel comfortable talking with and how hard it can be as a client. It might be helpful to have a quick chat to say hello, find out more and see if you would like an assessment to consider starting therapy.
I work from both Crawley and Worthing.
Practice description
Coming to counselling is a big deal, it is a big step to choose yourself and choose to work through your vulnerable parts. I have sat in that client seat and gone to those difficult places - I know how hard that can be and recognise the importance for sensitivity and a non-judgemental approach. I place value on working with you at your pace and provide space for grounding you before leaving a session.
My first session
Our first session is mostly about getting to know one another, letting you know what you can expect from me and giving you space to let me know what you would like from your sessions.
I am a firm believer that for counselling to be effective the relationship between the client and counsellor needs to work. You need to feel comfortable with who you are talking to so you can feel safe in exploring what might feel most vulnerable to you.
The first session does give time for you to share your experiences as this is important, however there is a strong focus on 'breaking the ice' and building some rapport.
