About me and my therapy practice

Being able to express how you truly feel in a safe and supportive environment, without the worry of upsetting others, can help you understand your struggles and how they may be affecting you and your life.

Counselling is a place where you can be yourself and talk openly about what is on your mind. With more self-awareness and understanding, together we can find a new way to move forward and experience personal growth, which sometimes we thought was not possible.

Some of the areas I work with include: Anxiety, Stress and feeling overwhelmed, Anger Management, Depression and Low mood, Trauma, Abuse, Low Self-esteem and Confidence, Relationship issues, Loss and Bereavement, Gender Identity, Self-harm, Suicidal thoughts, Bullying.

I have an integrative approach to counselling combining various techniques and theories.

A Psychodynamic approach helps us look back over our past, whilst Person Centred approach focuses on how we feel now.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) allows us to understand how our thoughts affect our feelings and reactions, whereas Solution Focussed Therapy enables us to find a positive way to move forward.

Additionally, I use strategies from Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and Mindfulness; these help to develop healthy ways of dealing with stress and to regulate our emotions.

I offer face to face, online and telephone counselling.

I am a fully qualified counsellor working with adults and young people in private practice, educational settings and have experience working with clients within the NHS.

I am a registered member of the BACP and ICO abiding by their ethical and data protection requirements. I am fully insured, hold a current DBS, and attend regular Safeguarding training.
