Availability
I work Monday to Friday and have some availability for new clients at the moment.
I offer in-person counselling in central Bristol and walking therapy in Oldbury Court, Fishponds. I’m happy to have a chat about days and times and what might work for you.
Standard sessions are 50 minutes. Walking therapy sessions can be either 50 or 90 minutes, depending on what we agree together.
About me and my therapy practice
There can be a lot of pressure to just get on with life – working, coping, keeping everyone else happy.
I offer a space to slow down and make sense of things, whether that's sitting together in a room or walking outdoors.
I believe you have the capacity to find your own way, even when that might feel difficult to imagine. My role isn't to analyse you or tell you what to do, but to work alongside you with warmth and curiosity as we explore whatever you're facing.
I took the scenic route to becoming a therapist, after years running my own business and working in tech. I've also spent a fair bit of time meditating and have always loved being outdoors (the wilder the better!).
You can find more about me and how I work on my website.
Practice description
I hold a Diploma in Person-Centred Psychotherapeutic Counselling from the Metanoia Institute and am a registered member of the BACP.
The relationship we build is at the heart of how I work. I'll listen carefully, ask questions and try to understand what life is like for you. I might share something I’m noticing, offer a different perspective or bring in an idea that seems useful. Other times, you might simply need space to talk and be heard.
I've been supporting people in various roles since 2016, beginning with Samaritans. This has included several years of counselling experience in community-based services, working with people facing a wide range of challenges.
I welcome people of all backgrounds and identities, including LGBTQ+ and neurodivergent clients.
Walking therapy
I also offer walking therapy in Oldbury Court, which has a mix of woods, open spaces and paths alongside the river. Some people find this setting makes it easier to have difficult conversations, while for others the surroundings themselves become part of the session.
My first session
I offer a free 15-minute introductory phone or video call, so we can have a chat before arranging a session. It's a chance to ask any questions, tell me a little about what you're looking for, and get a feel for whether we might work well together.
In our first full session, we'll have more time to explore what's brought you to counselling, what you might hope to get from it, and the practical side of working together.
We can take things at your pace and begin with whatever feels most important. You don’t need to present a polished version of yourself, or have the right words for everything.
From there, we can decide together what might come next.

Addictions, Anxiety, Baby loss, Bereavement, Depression, Loss, Men's issues, Pet bereavement, Redundancy, Relationships, Self esteem, Spirituality, Stress, Trauma
