About me and my therapy practice
Registered Member MBACP | Person-Centred Integrative Counsellor
About Me
Life can feel overwhelming, especially as we try to balance personal histories against the complex weight of today’s world. Whether you are moving through a major life transition, managing a chronic illness, processing trauma or trying to understand yourself better- you do not have to carry it alone.
I am a person-centred, integrative psychodynamic psychotherapeutic counsellor with over a decade of specialised clinical experience. At the heart of my practice is a fundamental belief: you are the expert on your own life- relationships can hurt us - they are the way back out.
I provide a warm, genuine, down-to-earth and entirely non-judgemental space where we can explore your thoughts, feelings and life experiences at your own pace. My background in fine art informs a flexible, intuitive approach to therapy. I welcome individuals of all sexual orientations, gender identities, relationship styles and backgrounds. This is a fully inclusive, neurodiversity-affirming and trauma-informed space where you are invited to bring your whole, authentic self.
Practice description
I offer both short-term, rapid-impact therapy and long-term holding frameworks, tailoring our sessions to your immediate needs. I recognise that our emotional well-being is shaped not just by our internal minds, but by the material conditions of our lives—our financial security, access to resources and the wider social or systemic pressures we face. Together, we will make sense of these overlapping layers to support meaningful, lasting change. To ensure you receive the safest care, my practice is grounded in continuous training, regular clinical supervision and contemporary, research-backed frameworks.
Areas of Specialised Experience
-Trauma and Relationship Dynamics: Healing from childhood experiences, emotional, sexual or narcissistic abuse, and managing complex trauma or high-risk presentations.
-Neurodivergence and Higher Education:
Specialised insight into how ADHD, autism and dyslexia impact identity, emotional regulation and academic anxiety—with a deep understanding of the creative university landscape.
-Chronic Illness and Invisible Disabilities: Bringing advanced clinical research and my own lived experience navigating Crohn’s disease and dyslexia to support individuals with long-term physical conditions.
-Carer Support: Dedicated space for those supporting loved ones with depression, dementia or disability, helping you navigate the unique emotional toll of caring.
-Existential and Collective Anxiety: Processing the psychological impacts of macro-level instability, including eco-grief, financial inequality and societal upheaval.
