About me and my therapy practice

I’m a warm and experienced person-centred counsellor with the ability to meet people where they are emotionally. I work with adults going through separation and divorce, helping them understand themselves and their relationships more deeply as their lives change shape.

I also support people experiencing low mood, depression, grief and burnout, and I’m neurodiversity-affirming in my practice. As well as counselling, I’m a qualified divorce coach, and I run The Good Divorce Clinic.

I don’t currently work with young people.

Practice description

I’m a creative and empathetic practitioner. I work face to face from my therapy room in Cardiff, and I’m also qualified to work online.

Every client is different, so I adapt how I work to suit them. Some people need space to talk. Others find it easier to show me. Where it helps, I use objects, sand and metaphor to go deeper. Sometimes moving a stone across a tray says more than half an hour of talking.

I’m also a certified divorce coach. If and when you’re ready to focus on what comes next, we can talk about whether coaching might help.

I believe how you rebuild after divorce matters more than the divorce itself. That doesn’t mean being amicable at all costs. It means finding the boundaries that work for you, whether that’s cooperation or a bit more distance.

Divorce is one of the biggest transitions a person can go through, and it rarely changes just one thing. Your home, your finances, your friendships, your routines and your role as a parent can all shift at once. Often the hardest part is working out who you are now.

My first session

Your first session is a chance for us to get to know each other. We’ll talk about what has brought you here and what you’d like to get from counselling. I’ll also explain how I work, so you know what to expect.

It’s normal to feel uncertain about starting therapy. You don’t need to know exactly what you want to say, and you won’t be asked to commit to anything there and then.

Everything you share with me is confidential, with a few limits around safety that I’ll explain when we meet.

Next steps:

If you’d like to see whether we’re a good connection first, you can book a free 30-minute video call.

If you’re ready to start, you can book your first session directly through my online calendar.

After your first session, we’ll decide together whether to carry on.

I offer supervision on a Friday afternoon or Wednesday evenings. I supervise both online and face to face but if you're a student, you should be able to do a mix.

About me and my therapy practice

I am a warm and empathetic practitioner who believes deeply in the clients ability to solve their own problems. I have over 10 years worth of experience and I supervise with a creative and thoughtful approach to meet the counsellor where they are whether they are already qualified or in training. I have experience with working with both. My main area of work is currently with teenagers so I would be suitable for CYP supervision.

Practice description

Using the seven eyed model, I have the ability to work with you to understand your client work more deeply. I have particular strengths in working with metaphor and aim to be creative and thoughtful in my approach. My key skills are compassion and empathy and I will use these to be a supportive and rejuvenating space for you.

I am guided by the BACP ethical framework.
