About me and my therapy practice

I am a qualified Integrative Counsellor and Psychotherapist, and an accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). This means I am committed to working in accordance with their ethical framework, ensuring a safe, respectful, and professional therapeutic environment.

I offer a compassionate and confidential space where you can explore whatever may be troubling you at your own pace. As an integrative therapist, I draw on a range of approaches, allowing me to tailor our work to suit your individual needs rather than applying a one-size-fits-all model. I believe that each person’s experience is unique, and I aim to support you in a way that feels right for you.

People come to counselling for many different reasons whether you are experiencing anxiety, low mood, relationship difficulties, loss, or feeling stuck or overwhelmed. You may not have a clear reason, but simply feel that something isn’t quite right. Whatever brings you, I will work alongside you with empathy and without judgement.

My approach is grounded in building a trusting therapeutic relationship, where you feel heard, understood, and supported. I aim to help you gain greater self-awareness, develop resilience, and find new ways of coping, enabling you to move forward with more clarity and confidence.

Alongside my professional training, I bring warmth, authenticity, and a genuine commitment to supporting your wellbeing. Taking the first step to seek support can feel daunting, but you don’t have to do it alone.

Practice description

My practice offers a calm, confidential, and supportive space where you can take time to focus on yourself. I work with adults facing a wide range of emotional and psychological difficulties, including anxiety, depression, stress, relationship issues, and life transitions.

Sessions are tailored to your individual needs, drawing on an integrative approach that may include elements of person-centred, psychodynamic, and relational therapies. This flexibility allows us to work in a way that best supports you and what you would like to achieve from counselling.

I offer both short-term and open-ended therapy, depending on your preferences and circumstances. We can work together on specific issues or take a more exploratory approach to understand deeper patterns and experiences.

My aim is to provide a safe, non-judgemental environment where you feel able to speak openly and be heard. Together, we can explore your thoughts and feelings, develop greater self-awareness, and work towards meaningful and lasting change.

Sessions are available in-person or online, and I offer an initial consultation to help you decide whether I am the right therapist for you.

My first session

I understand that starting counselling can feel like a big step, and it’s natural to feel a little uncertain at first. The initial session is an opportunity for us to meet, begin to get to know one another, and explore what has brought you to therapy.

I offer a free 20-minute initial consultation, usually by phone or online. This gives you the chance to briefly talk about what you’re looking for, ask any questions, and get a sense of whether you feel comfortable working with me without any obligation to continue.

If you decide to go ahead, our first full session will provide a space for you to talk in more depth about any difficulties you may be experiencing, as well as what you hope to gain from counselling. There is no pressure to share everything straight away and we will go at a pace that feels comfortable for you.

I will also explain how I work, including confidentiality, boundaries, and what you can expect from our sessions. This is a space for you to ask any further questions and begin to build a sense of trust in the therapeutic relationship.

The first session is as much about you deciding if I am the right therapist for you as it is about beginning the therapeutic process. If we decide to continue, we can then agree on how we will work together moving forward.
