About me and my therapy practice

Are your past experiences impacting on your daily life? Are you feeling stuck and experiencing difficulties with your self-esteem and navigating relationships? Did you experience childhood trauma that keeps being triggered as an adult?

Our life experiences, particularly in childhood have a huge impact on the way we see ourselves, other people and world and can seep into every part of our daily lives. I will give you the space to talk about those current challenges and explore where they may come from and what we can do to help you heal, whilst celebrating your strengths and resilience. Life can be busy and chaotic, this space is for you. I will stay with you with anything you bring and offer my empathy, congruence and unconditional positive regard. If there is something you do not want to talk about, that is okay.

This will be your space to use in the way you feel you need.

I aim to empower individual's to find the answers they are searching for and offer a space that is supportive and comforting whilst you process difficult experiences and emotions.

I trained as a psychotherapist after working within the adult care system for several years. I found a passion for helping individuals overcome difficulties that they face and I am honoured to be able to facilitate this everyday. Alongside offering private therapy and supervision, I work as a psychotherapist for a UK trauma charity, providing therapy, supervision, consultations and training for adults and children. I specialise in childhood trauma and developmental trauma. This includes attachment difficulties, shame, sensory processing and regulation and and emotional regulation.

I have a wealth of experience of offering personal therapy to adults and young people, who have experienced childhood trauma, anxiety and depression, loss, dissociation, PTSD, relationship difficulties and neurodiversity.

About me and my therapy practice

As an experienced psychotherapist, I know first hand the difference good clinical supervision has made to my own wellbeing, the wellbeing of my clients and the quality of the therapy I offered. Informing my style of clinical supervision is Hawkins and Shohets Seven-Eyed Model of Supervision. This model is widely used within the UK with a vast amount of research supporting its efficiency. I use this model as it is applicable across different therapeutic modalities and within individual and group supervision settings.

My use of the Seven-Eyed Model of supervision allows me to offer a holistic approach to supervision, with time focused on the client and the aspects that make up the therapeutic relationship. Yet, does not neglect the your supervision needs as practitioner.

Practice description

I am a registered psychotherapist and clinical supervisor, having completed my training for both at post-graduate level. I originally trained in a Person-Centred approach, but have since trained in several other therapeutic approaches including Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy and Theraplay. I also have experience of delivering Trauma Focused-CBT.

In my day role I offer therapy, training and psychoeducation to professionals, adults and children around developmental psychology and developmental trauma, alongside clinical supervision to social workers and psychotherapists working with children within the care system. Previously I have worked directly with the homeless community, and individuals experiencing mental health difficulties, mental health struggles and criminal offending. As a result of this, I have a vast amount of experience of trauma work.

My first session

I offer a free 30minute chat to begin with. This allows you to determine whether I might be the right clinical supervisor for you and can meet you needs. There is no obligation to continue after this initial chat. If you decide that I can offer the support you need, the first session will include contracting, to ensure your safety. This contract will be reviewed throughout our supervisory relationship.
