About me and my therapy practice

Hello, I'm Henry, I'm a person-centred counsellor based in Hackney, East London.

Are you finding there is something that is causing you upset or distress, maybe there is something in life that feels like an obstacle or out of reach, or perhaps there is something that feels difficult to understand that you cannot ignore? These are questions that counselling may be able to help you with.

Counselling can offer a space and time for you to talk about issues that you are encountering and the difficult feelings or problems that are challenging you. I offer a safe and confidential space that supports you in approaching and exploring these parts of your life. We can work collaboratively to open up about these problems and help make sense of the confusion, through this process we can aim to understand you more clearly and facilitate positive changes in your life.

I hold a diploma in Therapeutic Counselling, which focused specifically on the Person-Centred Approach, and a Certificate in Counselling Skills. I am a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and abide by its ethical framework for good practice.

My first session

If you would like to find out more about how I work we could have a phone or Zoom call. The call is free of charge and will take about 20 minutes.

We can also talk about what you are looking for from therapy and I can answer any other questions you may have about counselling.

My fee is £75 for a single session, if you would like to book sessions for the month in advance the fee is £70 per session (4-5 sessions).

A session will last 50 minutes and will be scheduled to take place weekly at the same time. I offer a limited number of fortnightly sessions, I recommend starting with six weekly sessions to build our counselling relationship after which we would review how the sessions are developing before deciding whether to switch to fortnightly sessions.

I am available for sessions in the afternoon and in the evening, I also have a limited number of in-person sessions on Thursday evenings, Friday afternoons and Saturday mornings & early afternoons.

In-person sessions are at either Hackney Therapy or HQ Therapy both of which are located on Kingsland Road in Haggerston. Several bus routes stop close by and Haggerston Overground Station is a 3-minute walk away.
