About me and my therapy practice

Isn’t it strange how we talk the least about the things we think about the most?! Talking about your feelings, your emotions, your behaviours and your thoughts can feel overwhelming and conflicted, not knowing where to begin, this can seem scary and uncomfortable. My role is to support you to acknowledge, explore, accept, and understand them in order to achieve growth & positive change.

I’m qualified and experienced and that’s important when choosing a therapist, however more than that I offer warmth, compassion, empathy, a healthy dose of realism, and a safe non judgemental space, to explore yourself in a way you may never have before. You are unique and so are your reasons for counselling and the goals you are looking to achieve. I am experienced and specialise in trauma, disordered eating and couple therapy, I work in a way that helps to resolve the causes of depression, anxiety and disordered eating rather than just the symptoms.

The relationship between client and therapist is fundamental to the process in dealing with the issues that are affecting your life. If you believe you would work well with straight talking, honesty and warmth in order for you to be truly heard and understood, knowing that your therapist ‘gets you’ then I might be the therapist for you.

Here are a few of my testimonials from previous clients, this may help you to decide on the type of therapist you are looking for.

"The therapy was amazing and Danielle put me at ease straight away. I felt able to talk to her about everything and Danielle was able to understand and help me work on things.  I was sad when our sessions came to an end, but i will definitely be back in touch with her if I feel I need it, thank you Danielle."

"Therapy with Danielle has been nothing short of life changing"

"We started with one trigger and somehow she mapped out my life where I had been retriggered again, and again. I was amazed, Danielle taught me so much"

Practice description

I use a booking & payment system, making it easy to book a date & time that suits you, payment can be made using credit or debit card. I offer varied and fluid days and times for those that have greater flexibility but also set days and times for those that don't.  I offer a discount for booking 6 sessions which helps to budget but also can help you to feel committed to therapy.

My initially process would be to have a free 15 minute telephone consultation to understand more about your reasons for counselling and to start to engage as to whether i have the right skills and knowledge to support you.

I have 2 practices both are great spaces to feel warmth, safety and confidentiality.

My first session

I treat my clients as the individuals, one size doesn't fit all, so I don't have any assessments for you to complete, I just talk to you about the troubles you may be experiencing and discuss the process of how we would work together, establishing what your goals and aims of therapy are, explaining how my integrative approach works looking at who you are in the present, what makes you who you are from your past and childhood and how you would like to be in the future.

I am passionate that anyone seeking therapy has to be able to find the right therapist for them,  that isn’t always easy to do so we will always engage in conversation about how the first session has gone for you and whether you think I’m the right counsellor and if not I can recommend other therapists that you may work better with.
