About me and my therapy practice

Welcome. Therapy is a great investment in self-care and self-growth and the first step is the one you are taking right now, to find a professional that you can work with.

There are many reasons why you may be seeking support, you could be feeling low, or anxious, or you may simply want to explore what is happening to you. Perhaps you find yourself at a stage in life where events have left you unsure of the direction to take, disconnected from yourself and others, or wanting to improve how you feel about yourself or your relationships.

We all have patterns of thoughts, feelings and behaviours that can be helpful, or unhelpful and what is sometimes needed is another mind to work with you to understand where you find yourself. Supporting you with how you can find compassion, move out of, and move toward how you want to be.

All those things that are hard to say in usual conversations are welcome here. We'll build a trusting relationship where we discuss current experiences and where appropriate where they may be related to your past. Understanding why you think and feel how you think and feel. By bringing different perspectives, we can explore situations where you have more freedom to go forward.

Connecting to your emotions may be part of the process. Although feelings can be disorientating, they can offer insight into what is happening for you, rather than being what is wrong with you.

You may be unsure or tentative about therapy or how long to work with someone, and we can discuss this in an initial conversation. I offer an initial 15 minute consultation that is not charged.

As a Psychotherapeutic Counsellor, I practice with individuals and relationships in Ealing, West London. My work is informed by taking into account the broader impacts of culture, family, and social and political influences on our individual experiences. I am particularly interested in relationships, self-belief, and self-esteem and how different stages of our life, and different groups impact us.

Practice description

My private practice is in Ealing.

I offer six and twelve week short-term therapy and long-term, or open-ended sessions for individuals.

For couples and relationships, I recommend six to ten weeks.

Weekly sessions allow for the relationship to be built and ensure momentum.

Sessions are payable in advance.  If you need to cancel a session, seven days' notice is required, and I appreciate four weeks' notice for the holidays.

My first session

You are likely to have worked on this before and I'm interested in what you have already tried, your experience of therapy and how it was to come and meet me.

I'll be interested in your past, mainly to understand how it is living in your present. To help you make connections between what you are doing now.

When we first meet you'll get a good sense of what working together would be like. We can have open conversations about whether I am best placed to work with you and if I am not I can refer you to a trusted list of therapists and coaches who may be a better fit.

You may share more than you expected, which may bring relief and can be disconcerting. These are normal feelings and usual when you say out loud what has previously been part of your inner world.

We’ll discuss confidentiality, length of therapy, and I can answer any questions and concerns you have.

The initial consultation sessions is 50 minutes and is chargeable.
