About me and my therapy practice
My practice is grounded in the psychoanalytic tradition and begins with the particular concerns that bring you to therapy. I listen closely to what you say and to the meanings that emerge as you speak about your experience.
Together we can explore what is troubling you, including recurring patterns, conflicts and difficulties that may not be immediately understandable. This may involve thinking about your history and relationships, but also about unconscious factors that continue to shape how you experience yourself and others. Therapy offers a space in which thoughts, feelings and wishes can be spoken about freely, without judgement.
Alongside my private practice, I work as an Assessor at the Centre for Community Psychotherapy London (CCPL), a psychotherapy clinic for longer-term counselling. I have also worked as an Honorary Psychodynamic Psychotherapist with the South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust, and as a Senior Counsellor and Assessor at Highbury Counselling Centre.
Practice description
Psychotherapy is an invitation to talk about the things that are important to you: the things that make you unhappy, the things that worry you, that annoy or disturb you; the thoughts and feelings you never knew existed in you, or have never been able to formulate or articulate.
It is an invitation to speak about whatever comes to your mind in relation to the issues that you are faced with: how they started, how they impact your life; how they make you feel and what they remind you of.
You may talk about anything and everything: complaints, symptoms, fears, desires, dreams, fantasies, opinions, uncertainties. There is nothing that should, or should not, be talked about.
My first session
Please get in touch to arrange an initial, face-to-face consultation.
There is no fee for this initial consultation. Ongoing fees and means of payment will be decided together during our first meeting and will depend on session frequency and personal circumstances. We can discuss the rhythm of sessions that will work for you.
This will be an opportunity to discuss your situation and the possibility of working together, as well as any questions and concerns you might have. Choosing a therapist who is right for you is vital to the success of the work – if you feel that what is offered is not what you are looking for, I will be happy to suggest alternatives or refer you to a colleague.
