About me and my therapy practice

Deciding to ask for help is often the biggest and scariest step and finding the right therapist that suits you and your needs is part of the process. To make this first step a little easier, I offer a 15 minute phone conversation, free of charge, to discuss your needs and answer any questions you might have.   This allows us to have the opportunity to see if we are the right fit for each another.

Practice description

Hello, I'm Katie Haynes – a young, vibrant and empathetic BACP registered counselor. My journey in the counselling world has included working as a school counseller, providing counselling within charities, and offering crisis management assistance.

I am mainly a person-centered therapist, but I also incorporate integrative approaches to suit individual clients needs as no one client is the same.

I have worked with a wide range of issues, such as, eating disorder, self-harm, stress management, bereavement, bullying, anxiety and depression, self-worth, PTSD, domestic, sexual and historic abuse, pre-trial therapy, body image, gender issues, inner-child work, and various others.

I aim to help clients understand and heal from wounds that maybe impacting their lives and supporting them to discover the tools necessary for their next steps.

My first session

Once we have decided to go forwards together, we will schedule weekly sessions lasting 50 minutes per session. You will have the freedom to bring whatever you deem important or necessary to our sessions. There is no "right" or "wrong" way to approach a session; what truly matters are your thoughts and feelings. Together, we will explore whatever is troubling you, gradually building towards a better understanding of yourself and your needs.
