About me and my therapy practice
I offer private counselling and psychotherapy, specialising in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) for individual adults, alongside short-term workplace counselling for Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) providers. My practice is fully online, delivering confidential therapy via secure video sessions.
I am an accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP) and the Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MIACP), a member of the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP), and EMDR Ireland.
I have particular experience working with anxiety and depression, anger management, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), fears and phobias, social anxiety, stress, low self-esteem, relationship and communication difficulties, conflict resolution, suicidal impulses, and survivors of childhood abuse. I also work with neurodiverse clients, including adults with ADHD traits.
I have worked as a Counsellor and Psychotherapist since 2011, before establishing my private practice in 2013. As my interest in CBT developed, I began integrating it into my clinical work from 2015. I chose to specialise in CBT as I value its clear, structured, practical and evidence-based framework, and its strong emphasis on psychoeducation, skills development, and measurable change.
I hold a BSc (Hons) in Cognitive Behavioural Therapeutic Approaches (University of Derby, 2020) and a Master of Arts in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (2022). These qualifications were undertaken to consolidate my clinical CBT practice and ensure my work is grounded in current, evidence-based standards of best CBT practice.
My work with my clients is dedicated to delivering high-quality, evidence-based CBT, supporting my clients to better understand their difficulties, develop effective coping strategies, and achieve lasting change.
Practice description
My practice is based online offering Cognitive Behavioural Therapy within the UK and Ireland.
My first session
The first session is a CBT assessment consultation which we will complete during an online video call. This session is focused on understanding your current difficulties and building a clear picture of how these are affecting your day-to-day life.
We will complete a comprehensive mental health assessment, exploring your presenting concerns, relevant mental health history, current symptoms, and the impact these have on your functioning, wellbeing, and quality of life. We will use standardised rating scale questionnaires to support assessment and track progress over time.
This consultation session also provides an opportunity to discuss your goals for therapy, identify patterns maintaining difficulties, and develop an initial shared understanding of your experiences. From this, we will collaboratively formulate a CBT treatment plan tailored to your needs, outlining treatment plan and focus, proposed interventions, and expectations for therapy.
You will also have time to ask questions, discuss how CBT works, and decide whether this approach feels right for you. There is no obligation to continue beyond the assessment session, and please feel free to give me a call for a free 15 minute introductory chat.
