About me and my therapy practice

I am a fully qualified and insured Integrative Counsellor and Psychotherapist offering both face to face and online counselling and psychotherapy specialising in working with women aged 18+ from my comfortable easy to reach rooms in Horsham, West Sussex, or online using zoom.

I am passionate about helping clients who identify as neurodivergent access therapy in a way that works for them. I also have experience in working with many women’s issues, with a focus on menopause and peri-menopause.

The Clarkson Five Relational Model forms the basis of my work, providing a framework I am able to integrate and utilise aspects of different counselling theories in order to provide a tailor-made therapy experience for every client. What emerges is a totally unique relationship which often cant be found outside of the therapy room.

Prior to setting up in private practice I worked for a women's counselling charity offering long term (up to 2 years) weekly sessions that covered a wide range of issues.

More information is available on my website.

Practice description

Whether we like or know it, we carry the past with us. Every relationship leaves its mark, beginning as an infant. These early relationships are the foundation from which our ability adapt to the complexities of human relationships grows, informing how easily we can get our own emotional needs met.

Patterns of behaviour (coping mechanisms) can form outside of our awareness that can be both helpful - getting needs met or keeping us safe. But also hinder – stopping us from making changes, keeping us stuck unable to move forward.

As a Counsellor and Psychotherapist  I am able to offer both shorter fixed term of sessions (Counselling) to focus on a specific issue, usually up to 16 or 20 sessions. Or longer-term open-ended therapy (Psychotherapy).  You don’t need to decided straight away, sometimes that only emerges once you have started counselling.

I have experience in dealing with many of the issues that people face daily, such as:-

Anxiety

Childhood trauma

Depression

Emotional Eating

Gender, Sexuality and Relationship Diversity

General Issues

Relationship problems (not couples)

Pressures of work

PMT and PMDD

Menopause/Peri Menopause

Major life changes

Neurodiversity in adulthood

Self-esteem

My first session

I offer an initial free 20 min online session, in which we will briefly chat about your needs from counselling and get a feel for each other.

If you then choose to go ahead – which you don’t have to do on the spot. We will then agree a mutually convenient date and time to starting weekly for a 50 minute session* which can be face to face or online (zoom). In some circumstances I may be able to accommodate a combination of both.

In our first full session we will go through the contract  and a short assessment so that I can get to know you and what you are hoping for from our sessions in more detail.

*This may vary when working with neurodiverse clients
