About me and my therapy practice

Hello, I’m Jen. I have worked in a therapeutic and supportive capacity for over 23 years now. This has given me extensive professional experience of supporting young people and adults through a wide range of difficulties, including (but not limited to) grief, loss, bereavement, addictions, childhood trauma, anxiety, depression, neurodiversity, physical, emotional, psychological and sexual abuse, relationship difficulties, domestic abuse, anger management and obsessive, compulsive behaviours.

I also have personal and professional experience of infertility and how living with this can impact mental health and well being.

After over 20 years in my last role I decided to complete an Masters in Clinical Counselling and set up my own private practice so I could focus fully on using my skills, experience and expertise to counsel clients.

There are many reasons people seek out counselling. You may have been affected by a painful life event or you may be feeling overwhelmed, anxious or depressed. You may not know why things are feeling so difficult. Whatever your reason, choosing to see a counsellor can be an important first step towards helping you to feel better.

My private practice can offer you a safe, supportive, confidential and non-judgemental space for you to talk about whatever you would like to explore in your counselling sessions.

How I work

I practice person-centred counselling which means the content and pace of our sessions will be led by you.

I am also highly experienced in using CBT techniques and interventions with clients  and we may choose to incorporate this into our sessions.
