About me and my therapy practice
Hi, I’m Amy,
I am qualified to Level 7 Graduating with a Master’s in Counselling and Psychotherpy. My practice is grounded in Person-Centred Theory and it is rooted in working in a Trauma-Informed manner.
Since graduating, I have gone on to complete a number of training courses such as LGBTQ+ and Mental Health and Eating Disorder Awareness.
I am comfortable in working with clients of all ages, with my youngest client being aged 3. I have been told i have a way of working, particularly with children and young people that makes me relatable, and a safe space to explore the more challenging parts of life.
I currently spend my time counselling adults and children who have been affected by cancer, life-shortening illnesses, and bereavement. As well as supporting the survivors of rape, sexual abuse or sexualised violence. – These areas of work hold a particular place in my heart.
I also support clients who are living with mental health conditions such as, anxiety, depression, OCD, BPD and PTSD; and I have experience in working alongside clients experiencing disordered eating and those dealing with addiction and substance abuse. Offering counselling to those in recovery as well as working with their family members to support their recovery at home.
Practice description
I am a Person-Centred Counsellor and I offer one-to-one therapy sessions to people of all ages.
The style of therapy used in sessions would be dependant upon age, need and ability, for example the use of therapeutic play in sessions with young people.
I am also a Clinical Supervisor for both trainee and qualified Counsellors, personally, I have extensive experience working with children, young people and adults who have experienced trauma within their lives.
I am also excited to be able to offer Educational Support in the form of one-to-one therapy sessions for pupils and/or staff, or Supervision for Staff members. All tailored to suit your school or the individual need.
