About me and my therapy practice
Hi, I'm Carly. I'm a psychodynamic and integrative therapist with a down-to-earth and real approach. I offer warmth, honesty and gentle challenge where needed, so we can do the meaningful work together.
My aim is to offer a safe, empathetic and non-judgemental space where you can feel heard, understood and able to speak freely. You are welcome to bring whatever is concerning you, including anything that comes up as we begin to work together.
I work flexibly and creatively, shaping therapy around you and what feels helpful, keeping flexibility along the way. This may include talking therapy alongside approaches such as timelines, inner-child work, letter writing or other reflective exercises where appropriate.
I work with adults and young people across a wide range of experiences, including anxiety, domestic violence, relationship difficulties and the many challenges that can sit in between. My practice is LGBTQIA+ affirming, ENM-informed, and kink- and fetish-aware.
I hold qualifications up to bachelor's degree level, including diplomas in psychodynamic counselling and counselling children and young people. I have also completed further training in self-harm awareness, safeguarding, education and training, and supporting survivors of sexual abuse and rape and beyond.
I am committed to ongoing professional development and am currently studying at master's level in psychosexual and relationship psychotherapy, due to complete in 2027. I am approved to practise and currently offer a reduced rate for psychosexual and relationship therapy clients.
If you feel I may be the right therapist for you, please get in touch to arrange an initial chat to see if we feel were the right fit to work together.
Practice description
Access to counselling is important to me, I try to make it as inclusive as possible and understand it can feel like an unjustifiable expense- where as its actually essential to a lot of people. So I do have some reduced rate slots available for those on low income. Counselling can also be difficult to schedule in around work and family life. This is why I offer evenings and limited Saturday morning sessions (Saturdays full price only).
I offer face to face sessions at my private and peaceful space in Burton on Trent.
I also offer online sessions.
My first session
I offer a free 10 minute consultation phone call where we can have a chat, you can ask any questions and we can see if we feel we'd be a good fit to work together.
If you then choose to book in, on the first session we will go through an assessment form together.
Please check your junk mail if you don’t get a response as I always reply

Availability
I have various days/times available over two locations in Burton on Trent and online. I have some evening availability and weekend availability for short term or single session work.
About me and my therapy practice
I offer psychosexual and relationship psychotherapy for individuals and couples who want to better understand the difficulties affecting their emotional, relational or sexual wellbeing. My approach is warm, respectful and non-judgemental, creating a confidential space where you can talk openly about sensitive issues at a pace that feels manageable. I am LGBTQIA+, ENM and kink/fetish allied, and aim to provide affirming support for diverse identities, relationships and sexual expressions.
I work collaboratively with you to explore relationship patterns, communication, intimacy, desire, trust, conflict, life transitions and the impact of past experiences. Sexual functioning may include vaginismus, pain during sex, changes in desire or arousal, erectile or ejaculation difficulties, orgasm concerns, anxiety around sex, or feeling disconnected from your body or sexuality. I can also support you to navigate new experiences, relationship agreements, boundaries and consent, helping you consider what feels safe, meaningful and right for you as you move towards greater understanding and more satisfying relationships.
Whether you are seeking support as an individual, couple or within a non-mononormative relationship structure, I will work with you to clarify what you would like from therapy and review progress as we go. My aim is to provide a thoughtful, compassionate and professional space where diverse ways of relating can be understood without assumption, difficult conversations can be approached safely, and meaningful change can become possible.
Practice description
I offer a calm, supportive and confidential space where you can explore what is going on for you at your own pace. My aim is to help you feel heard, understood and supported as we work together to make sense of your experiences and move towards the changes you would like to make.
I have room in my practice for individuals, couples, poly and non-mononormative relationships, and I aim to offer an inclusive space where different relationship structures and experiences are respected.
Appointments are available in person across 2 locations in Burton upon Trent, as well as online, offering flexibility to choose the setting that feels most comfortable and accessible for you.
