About me and my therapy practice
Overthinking, anxiety or finding it hard to switch off can leave you feeling overwhelmed and emotionally drained. You may find yourself doubting yourself more than usual, struggling with confidence, or wondering why life feels more difficult right now.
Counselling can offer a space to begin making sense of what is happening for you, at a pace that feels right for you.
I am a qualified integrative counsellor working with adults and young people aged 11+, offering face to face counselling in Ash (GU12), near Aldershot, Farnham and Camberley, as well as online across the UK.
There does not need to be a particular reason to come to counselling. Sometimes people come because life feels difficult, they are struggling to make sense of how they are feeling, or simply want space to reflect and better understand themselves.
Alongside experiences such as anxiety, low self-esteem, overthinking or feeling stuck, counselling can offer an opportunity to explore what may be contributing to how you are feeling and what may feel difficult right now.
Practice description
My approach is integrative, with a foundation in person-centred counselling. In simple terms, this means I draw on different ideas and approaches depending on your individual needs, rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach. Our sessions are led by you and what feels important to bring.
I offer a calm, supportive space where we can begin to make sense of what may be happening for you, helping you to better understand your thoughts, feelings and experiences.
Sometimes this may include gently exploring past experiences, relationships or ways of coping, always in a way that feels accessible and relevant to you.
There is no pressure to have a clear starting point. We can begin wherever you are and work at a pace that feels manageable.
My first session
The first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and for you to get a sense of whether it feels comfortable to work together.
You are welcome to share as much or as little as you feel ready to. Some people arrive with a clear idea of what they would like to talk about, while others are less sure, and we can take time to explore this together.
We will also go through the counselling agreement, including confidentiality and how I work, so that everything feels clear. There will be space for you to ask any questions.
You do not need to have everything figured out before starting counselling. We can begin wherever you are and work at a pace that feels right for you.
