About me and my therapy practice

I hold master’s degrees in Psychology and Psychological Counselling and am currently awaiting my viva for the Professional Doctorate in Counselling Psychology. I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), a graduate member of the British Psychological Society (BPS), and an in-training member of the Division of Counselling Psychology.

I am bilingual in English and Mandarin and have extensive experience providing therapy in both languages. I am particularly attentive to how cultural, relational, and professional experiences can shape the way we understand ourselves and relate to others.

Before training as a psychotherapist, I worked in international business and marketing and completed an MBA. I have also worked professionally as a translator and have lived and worked across different countries and cultures. These experiences inform my understanding of the complexities of professional life, cultural transitions, identity, and communication across different contexts.

Practice description

I adopt an integrative approach guided by my training in psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT), systemic, existential, and person-centred modalities. I value helping clients identify their relational patterns, gain a stronger sense of agency by becoming more aware of their own thought processes, and take initiative to make meaningful changes.

I have over 10 years’ experience working across NHS, third-sector, and private settings with a wide range of psychological and relational difficulties, including complex trauma, depression, anxiety, self-esteem and identity concerns, relationship difficulties, disordered eating, and neurodivergence.

My first session

Our first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and for me to understand what brings you to therapy, what you hope to gain from it, and what feels important to you. It also gives you a chance to get a sense of how I work and whether you feel comfortable working with me. Together, we can discuss what might be most helpful for you and how we can best work together going forward.
