About me and my therapy practice

Hello, I'm Ellie.

I’m an integrative psychotherapist based in London, and a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).

My work is grounded in the belief that many of our struggles make sense when we understand the emotional stories and relationships behind them.

My approach to therapy is relational and integrative. In practice, this means that the relationship we build together becomes an important part of the work. Therapy offers a space where you can speak openly about your experience, and where we can explore the patterns, thoughts and feelings that may be shaping your life.

While my training draws on several therapeutic approaches, my work is grounded in a humanistic philosophy. At its core is the belief that people grow and change when they feel genuinely heard, understood and accepted.

From this foundation, I draw on a range of perspectives depending on what feels most helpful for you. This may include exploring how past relationships and experiences shape our present (psychodynamic), developing a more compassionate relationship with yourself (CFT), or finding new ways to respond to difficult thoughts and emotions (ACT).

Chapters in life that I can support with:

  • Anxiety
  • OCD, or preoccupied / obsessive thoughts
  • Relationship challenges
  • Negative body image, disordered eating
  • Feeling sad, lonely or overwhelmed
  • Feeling stuck or lost
  • Struggling to find meaning

Practice description

Therapy is an opportunity to better understand yourself, your relationships, and the challenges you may be facing. It offers a space to pause, reflect, and make sense of your experiences.

It is a paced and explorative process - one that invites you to take the scenic route through your inner life.

Therapy can offer different things to different people. For some, it is a space to process and work through a particular difficulty. For others, it becomes a regular opportunity for reflection and self-understanding.

In essence, therapy is a deeply personal experience, shaped by your individual needs, interests, and hopes for change.

In our weekly sessions, you are free to bring whatever feels important to you. My role is to walk alongside you. I may ask questions, notice patterns or themes, offer reflections or alternative perspectives, and provide gentle challenges - always with the intention of supporting you.

Together, we may explore past experiences and relationships, and consider how these might connect to what you are experiencing in the present. Above all, therapy is your space, and the direction of the work will be guided by what feels most meaningful to you.

My first session

Our first session is an opportunity to get to know one another.

Unlike other sessions, this session will likely include more direct questions from me, as I aim to get a sense of what you're experiencing and your goals for therapy. Ultimately, this is a space for us to decide if we're a good fit and would like to go ahead together.

This introductory session is charged at £50 for the therapeutic hour (50 minutes).
