About me and my therapy practice

Hello, I’m Lucy Sands and I send you the warmest welcome to my directory page.

Professionally for many years I have offered a friendly, down to earth counselling service, grounded in the core values of openness, respectfulness and honesty.

As a qualified counsellor and psychotherapist, I offer young people and adults one to one therapy, for as long as required.

Whatever your unique situation or root cause of distress, I will unconditionally listen without judgement, supporting you process what is happening.

I am trained to integrate various theoretical tools and techniques, to tailor a therapeutic session that best suits you.

Counselling brings increased self-awareness and together we will work towards facilitating choice and changes.

I will not judge but walk beside you in your therapeutic journey.

Thank you for considering utilising my help.

My Qualifications:  BSc (Hons) Psychology & PGDIP Counselling and Psychotherapy

Practice description

My practice is based near Maidstone (Kent) and face to face sessions will resume in 2024 due to building works.

All therapeutic tools and techniques have been effectively adapted to working online, supporting you in your own space.

What I offer:

Step 1) Once you have made contact via email I will promptly respond with information about booking a free 15 minute introductory call.

Step 2)  After this you can book a first assessment session. This gives you the opportunity to discuss your reasons for seeking support, and gives me the opportunity to talk about the way I work, including the ethical guidelines set out by the BACP.

There is no obligation to continue with therapy after our first session together.

Step 3)  If you decide to continue, we will together devise a therapy plan tailored to your specific needs. The number and frequency of sessions will be discussed on an individual basis, and our work together will be regularly reviewed to ensure it remains focused to your requirements.

My first session

By the end of the first assessment session I aim to gather as much information about you and your unique situation.  I will then suggest a proposed treatment plan and review date.
