About me and my therapy practice
Reaching out for support or speaking with a counsellor for the first time can feel overwhelming. My approach is warm and empathetic, and I am committed to creating a safe, supportive space where you feel comfortable. I am also happy to discuss what this means to you and explore how I can best support you to feel comfortable throughout our sessions.
This is your journey, and I want to understand your hopes, expectations, needs, and preferences so that I can tailor the counselling experience to suit you. My training is integrative, enabling me to draw from various therapeutic approaches to find the most effective way to support each individual.
I am experienced in providing counselling for survivors of trauma, particularly adults who have experienced sexual violence, whether in childhood or adulthood. In addition, I have a professional background working with survivors of domestic abuse and in services supporting individuals living with HIV. While I specialise in these areas, I welcome clients with a wide range of concerns and experiences.
If you are considering counselling, I offer a complimentary telephone consultation. This initial conversation allows us to connect, discuss your needs, and determine if I am the right counsellor to support you before booking your first session.
My training and qualifications:
Certificate in Working with Trauma
PGDip Counselling and Psychotherapy
MA Gender, Media and Culture
