Availability
I have limited availability for face-to-face sessions in Lymington and Milford on Sea on Tuesday mornings, on Wednesday afternoons and evenings and on Saturday afternoons and evenings. I also do Zoom and phone counselling.
About me and my therapy practice
I’m keen, I’m empathic, I have a lot of life experience and I’m authentic. I’m trained in the Person-centred Approach. I believe in the inherent goodness of human beings and my experience has convinced me that we all can reach our personal best at any stage in our life. Nothing should stand in our way: no past experiences, no naysayers, no other person.
Listening:
Listening is an art and I’m a trained, active listener. I’m authentic, completely non-judgemental and I’m empathic. I want to be on your side and completely understand you. I want to see everything from your point of view. I’m not interested in what anyone else thinks.
I’m only interested in what you think.
Growth:
An acorn grows into a mighty oak - but only if it’s placed in a supportive environment. As a person-centred counsellor, I’m trained to supply that environment, making sure that all the conditions for your personal growth are available every time we meet.
No ifs or buts about it.
Practice description
A big reason for counselling is that talking to a loved one or a friend about intensely personal stuff can be awkward, to say the least. Rest assured, you’re safe here. Everything that happens here is strictly confidential. I’m registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office and I abide by their strict guidelines. By law, I’m expected to keep records but only you can access them. Or maybe the court, if they press hard enough.
Files are encrypted and numbered, not named.
My first session
At our first session, there's no form filling, no questionnaires, no previously set up routines, and no formalities. I'd just like to know what happened to you, and what it is that brings you to therapy. I'd like to understand it just as well as you do. I'd like to see it from your perspective. After all, you're the expert on your own experience and if I'm to understand it deeply and offer you the right environment to grow and move in the direction you want, I need to know exactly how it feels to be on your journey.
What I can help with
Abuse, ADD / ADHD, Addictions, Anxiety, Autism spectrum, Bereavement, Cancer, Depression, Disability, Eating disorders, Health related issues, Life coaching, Loss, Mood disorder, Neurodiversity, Obsessions, OCD, Personal development, Phobias, Post-traumatic stress, Self-harm, Substance Dependency, Trauma

Availability
Face-to-face counselling:
I have limited availability for face-to-face sessions at Carlton Crescent in Southampton on Tuesday afternoons and evenings, on Thursday afternoons and evenings and on Saturday afternoons and evenings.
Distance counselling:
If you prefer you can have counselling over the phone or on Zoom. The pandemic started it, and many people still prefer it that way. Is it as effective? Well, it certainly worked during the pandemic. It doesn't have to be exclusively one way or the other. Have some meetings on the phone, some in person and some on Zoom.
I’ll make it work for you.
A taster session:
If you'd like a taster before committing yourself I offer a free 15-minute session on Zoom or the phone.
