About me and my therapy practice
I am a qualified psychotherapist (BACP registered) offering short and long term therapy online. I offer a safe and supportive space where you can speak openly about your experiences and any challenges you might be facing.
I am aware that starting therapy can feel vulnerable, I aim to offer a welcoming and non-judgemental presence where you may feel safe enough to speak freely, at your own pace.
Together we will explore your experience in greater depth, allowing for important emotions and experiences to be expressed, processed, and understood, within the safety of a warm and creative connection.
My work is LGBTQIA+ affirmative and holds an awareness of intersectionality.
Practice description
My Approach
In my work, I primarily draw on the psychodynamic approach which is an open-ended, non-directive form of therapy.
Our sessions will be led by you and whatever you would like to discuss. You might use the space to explore your early experiences, relationships, past trauma, painful memories, dreams or recurring relational or emotional difficulties.
Although you will take the lead on what is spoke about, I see therapy as ‘two minds in the room’ meaning that I will be present and engaged with you, offering thoughts and reflections. Together we may begin to draw links between your past and present, process difficult feelings and work to identify patterns and themes in your life that might be holding you back.
Therapy offers the chance for you to get a closer sense of who you are, opening up inner space and a greater capacity for choice.
My training
- BSc Counselling at University of East London
- Postgraduate Certificate in Psychodynamic Counselling at University of Oxford
- MSc Psychology at University of East London (current)
My Experience
In the past, I have worked for an NHS counselling service, as a short-term EAP counsellor and for an LGBTQIA+ community service (ELOP).
My first session
I offer an initial consultation at a reduced rate of £50 per 50 minute session. Finding the right fit with a therapist is important, this session offers a sense of what it might be like to work together.
My full fee is £70 but I have a sliding scale ranging from £60-70.
I hold a limited number of low cost slots, however these are full at the moment.
