Availability

I currently have availability for new clients.

I offer individual counselling for adults and young people, online and by telephone.

I offer flexible appointment times. Please get in touch to discuss current availability.

About me and my therapy practice

You might be newly diagnosed with ADHD or Autism, wondering whether you could be neurodivergent, or simply trying to understand yourself and your experiences a little better. You don’t need a formal diagnosis to work with me.

I’m Aga Kaperek, an integrative therapist with a particular interest in working with neurodivergent adults and young people, including Autistic and ADHD clients. I also work with people experiencing anxiety, overwhelm, low mood, burnout, relationship difficulties and periods of change or uncertainty.

My approach is integrative, which means I don’t expect you to fit into one particular way of doing therapy. I draw on cognitive and existential approaches, mindfulness and creative ways of working, adapting our sessions to what feels useful and accessible to you.

I aim to offer a warm, curious and non-judgmental space where you don’t have to explain away, minimise or justify your experience. Together, we can make sense of what’s been difficult, understand your needs and patterns, and explore what might help life feel more manageable and more like your own.

Practice description

Therapy can be a place to explore what has brought you here, whether that’s anxiety, overwhelm, relationships, identity, burnout, difficult experiences, or a feeling that something isn’t quite working but you’re not sure why. You don’t need to arrive knowing exactly what you want to work on.

Our sessions are collaborative and shaped around you - your needs, your pace and the way you make sense of the world. We might spend time talking and making sense of patterns, thoughts and emotions, or use cognitive approaches, mindfulness and creative ways of working where these feel helpful. I’m interested in finding what works for you rather than following a fixed formula for what therapy should look like.

I have a particular interest in neurodivergence and work with Autistic and ADHD adults and young people, including people diagnosed later in life and those exploring whether they may be neurodivergent. This might involve making sense of a diagnosis, masking, burnout, sensory and emotional needs, relationships, self-understanding, or the experience of having spent years feeling somehow different without knowing why.

My approach is neurodiversity-affirming. I don’t see neurodivergence as something to be corrected or trained away. Therapy can instead offer space to understand yourself more fully, recognise what you need, and work out what you might want to accept, change or approach differently.

Outside the therapy room, I enjoy gardening, foraging in local woods and spending time outdoors with my family. I’m also a runner, which is one of the ways I clear my head and reconnect with the world outside the counselling room.

My first session

I offer a free 15-minute telephone or online consultation before booking your first session. It gives us a chance to briefly talk about what has brought you to counselling, for you to ask any questions, and to get a sense of whether working together feels right for you.

If you decide to continue, our first full session is an opportunity to begin exploring what has brought you to therapy and what you would like support with. There’s no pressure to arrive with clearly defined goals - we can work this out together.

I offer both short and longer-term therapy, online and by telephone.

Concessionary spaces are available for people on low incomes and counselling students. Please feel free to ask about current availability.
